‎War Mutiny and Revolution in the German Navy - The World War I Diary of Seaman Richard Stumpf‎

‎New Brunswick New Jersey: Rutgers University Press. Good in Fair dust jacket. 1967. First English Edition. Hardcover. "In 1928 when the Reichstag Investigating Committee concluded its nine-year-long hearing to determine the causes of Germany's defeat and collapse during World War I its official proceedings included only one personal memoir - the complete wartime diary of Richard Stumpf. That document here published in English for the first time created a sensation when it was introduced as testimony at the height of the controversy over the naval mutinies of 1917 and 1918. It provided almost incontrovertible evidence that the real causes of the mutinies were hunger and starvation among the enlisted men their mistreatment by the officers and their intense desire for peace." - dust jacket. 442 pages. "This story is about the lifestyle and experiences of typical boys who lived in the Valley during two decades ending when the 1939 War intervened. Forestry is my profession. I am compelled to discuss this topic for two reasons. Trees underpin the economy of B.C. Of greater significance trees take in carbon dioxide a poison to humans and their animals and give off oxygen essential to sustaining - not just economic benefits - but healthy people. ‎The Room Where It Happened - A White House Memoir‎

‎New York: Simon & Schuster. Very Good in Very Good dust jacket. 2020. Reprint. Hardcover. 1982148039 . Signed without inscription by John Bolton atop title page. "A White House memoir that is the most comprehensive and substantial account of the first Trump Administration and one of the few to date by a top-level official. With almost daily access to the President John Bolton has produced a precise rendering of his days in and around the Oval Office. He shows a President addicted to chaos who embraced our enemies and spurned our friends and who was deeply suspicious of his own government." - dust jacket. "On June 16 2020 the Trump Justice Department attempted to block publication of this book seeking to confiscate Bolton's $2 million advance for breach of contract. On August 22 2025 FBI agents raided Bolton's home as part of a documents investigation. An AOL email account that Bolton used to submit his draft manuscript of this book was reportedly hacked by a foreign entity. On October 16 2025 he was indicted on 18 charges related to the mishandling of classified documents. The New York Times has reported that unlike with other 2025 prosecutions of high-profile Trump critics the Bolton prosecution process 'followed normal department channels'. - Wikipedia. 577 pages. ‎Warden, William‎

‎Letters written on board his majesty's ship the Northumberland and at Saint Helena in which the conduct and conversations of Napoleon Buonaparte and his suite during the voyage and the first months of his residence on that island are faithfully Described and Related‎

‎Philadelphia: M. Thomas. Very Good with no dust jacket. 1817. First Edition Thus. First Printing. Hard Cover. Bound in half red morocco over green marbled boards spine lettered and tooled in gilt with four raised bands. Illustrated with engraved frontispiece and engraved facsimile. Warden was a Surgeon on the Northumberland which conveyed Napoleon to St. Helena. During the voyages and for some time at Saint Helena Warden attended Napoleon. Following Napoleon's final defeat on the fields of Waterloo in 1815 and his surrender to the Royal Navy and eventual exile to St. Helena the public curiosity in England regarding the man who had terrorised Europe for years and dragged on a war that had begun in 1793 was overwhelming. Captain Maitland's perhaps better known account of Napoleon's time in the BELLEROPHON the ship Napoleon had surrendered to was not published until 1826. William Warden surgeon on board the NORTHUMBERLAND the ship that carried the Emperor into exile was on his return to England "in a state of persecution from the curiosity which prevails respecting that extraordinary character." Warden had spent several month on the island and was in a position to observe Napoleon at close quarters. His account is illustrated with an engraved vignette portrait of the prisoner a folding facsimile and a further engraved plate depicting two medals. The subject matter and criticism of the work sold many editions in the first year. The populace did not like the favorable depiction of Napoleon and the military and literary audience determining that Warden could not have been present at some of the things described took exception to his claims. Warden's French not being strong and his translator the Count de la Cases' English being confused in conveying Napoleon's comments apparently created discrepancies in the conversations as Napoleon later said that his conversations with Warden were quite different. . Edges rubbes corners bumped and worn boards rubbed mild foxing throughout; former owner's wood-engraved bookplate Daniel Delehanty Vincent Stuart Jr. on fep some light pencil sketches on ffep pencil signature on half-title "D. LymanWashington D.C.Friday July 18 1879" and in a light pencil of another hand "Red & Blue". VERY GOOD. Engravings. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. ix xi 244 pp . M. Thomas hardcover‎
