John Boos' red ex-libris printed on the verso of the title. Lincoln's portrait is printed in red on the background of every fourth leaf. The illustrations differ from the original version. This copy has a portrait of Lincoln on photographic paper bound in after the title a different one bound in after page 71 a photo of the house in which Lincoln died a photo of Ford's theatre and a facsimile of the program of Ford's theatre pasted on the last leaf. The index included in the original edition is not present so the pagination also differs. The rest of the text including Notes Correction of Some Commonly Accepted Stories and Bibliography were retained. Three clippings about Lincoln's last day from a contemporary era newspaper are laid in. John Boos of Albany NY was a prominent Lincoln collector and author. Leather shows some wear to edges and corner tips but overall this is a truly unique item in near fine condition. ; Octavo. Frederick A. Stokes Company hardcover
