Das Buch wurde sofort nach seinem Erscheinen verboten und auf den Index gesetzt sowie die Exemplare, denen man habhaft werden konnte konfisziert und vernichtet. Dennoch konnten sich wenige Bibliotheken ein Exemplar sichern, keines aber entspricht dem Zustand des vorliegenden: In honigfarbenes Pergament zeitgenössich eingebunden, durchgehend sauber und in allerbester Papierqualität gedruckt mit auserlesener Typographie gehört das Exemplar zu den Glanzstücken einer jeden Bibliothek. Kaum fleckig und meisterhaft gebunden sowie mit einem Rückentitel in leuchtendem Gold auf rötlich-orangefarbenem Grund geprägt.Gay-Lemonnier III, 156 und IV, 824. Peignot II, 72. Jones 75.
