Zu Beginn der 90er-Jahre initiierte der 1938 als Sohn deutsch-jüdischer Eltern in Haifa geborene israelische Psychologe Dan Bar-On ein Projekt in dem er die Nachkommen von Nazi-Tätern und Holocaust-Überlebenden zusammenführte mit dem bewusst bescheidenen Ziel dass sie sich einander ihre Lebens- und Familiengeschichten erzählen und -- vor allem -- zuhören sollten. Die Initiative war ein voller Erfolg. Unter dem Namen TRT "To Reflect and Trust" Nachdenken und Vertrauen stieß das in dieser Gruppe entwickelte Konzept für eine dialogische Friedensarbeit auf großes Interesse. Mittlerweile gibt es TRT-Gruppen in verschiedenen Krisenregionen der Welt so auch in Israel und selbst in Nordirland. Über den Dialogprozess der israelisch-palästinensischen Gruppe wird ausführlich in dem Band Die "Anderen" in uns berichtet. In Den Abgrund überbrücken erläutert Bar-On das grundlegende Konzept des TRT-Modells. Außerdem berichten verschiedene Teilnehmer von den Selbst-Erfahrungen in ihrer jeweiligen Gruppe. Ifat Moaz von der Herbräischen Universität in Jerusalem schließlich hat die TRT-Arbeit einer Evaluation unterzogen deren Methode und vorläufigen Ergebnisse er hier zur Diskussion stellt. Dass der erstmals im Jahr 2000 erschienene Band bereits nach knapp zwei Jahren seine zweite Auflage erlebt spiegelt das große Interesse an einer Methode der Friedensstiftung die auch in als besonders "aussichtslos" geltenden Konflikten wie dem israelisch-palästinensischen neue Perspektiven eröffnen könnte. Und tatsächlich ist eine der Fragen mit denen Bar-On angesichts der ermutigenden Ergebnisse der TRT-Gruppen ständig konfrontiert wird eben die nach der Übertragbarkeit der TRT-Methode von der Mikro- auf die Makroebene. Seine vage Hoffnung geht dahin dass die TRT-Teilnehmer die Idee multiplizieren. Tja so ist das: Im Kleinen weiß man wie es -- im Prinzip -- auch im Großen funktionieren könnte. Doch bis sich Ariel Sharon und Yassir Arafat mit ihren Getreuen in einer TRT-Gruppe zusammenfinden wird wohl noch viel Zeit vergehen. Aber wer weiß. ‎Paris: Chez Pierre Mariette. 1655. An attractive double hemisphere map based on the polar projections so as to include the northern and southern thirds of the world. The North pole is connected to Greenland and Spitzbergen but there is little other detailed coastline in the polar area. Europe Russia and Canada are delineated. The South pole is based on the great unknown Southland of Magellan. The tip of S. America is shown and a large land mass which encompasses the whole of the hemisphere but nothing else showing the limited extent of knowledge of these extreme latitudes. Extraordinarily enough though the southern projection which shows little more than the outline of a vast landmass 'Australe et Incogneue' roughly corresponding to Antarctica as we know it today long before any of it was discovered. Maps by Sanson in original colour are rare. Nicolas Sanson 1600-1667 French cartographer who established the first great cartographic dynasty in France. He was tutor to Louis XIV. Sanson published over 300 maps and was a founder of the French school of mapmakers at a time when the leadership in European cartography passed from the Low Countries to France. Copper engraving.
