Secker & Warburg 1950. Hardcover. Good/Fair. Fourth impression reset 1950 printed a year after the first impression published by Secker & Warburg. Unclipped dustjacket is generally bright with a number of small tears creasing and wear to the edges. The tears have been very neatly repaired with archival quality paper repair tape to the inside and the jacket is now in a neat removable protective wrapper. Pale greenish cloth covers with red lettering to the spine red top edge which is partly faded the front cover has a little ghosting of the title from the dustjacket and a little fading to the edges. Secure binding slight lean. Lovely bright pages a tiny impression from a previous pencilled price to the front free endpaper. The book has a slightly musty odour. Good condition. Orwell's all time classic set in a dystopian future where the the repressed population live under totalitarian rule through the use of mass surveillance and propaganda.
