L'Italia dal 1914 al 1918. Pagine sulla guerra
brossura Le "Pagine sulla guerra" si compongono di sessanta contributi, quasi tutti apparsi per la prima volta sulla stampa quotidiana e periodica e redatti, con poche eccezioni, nel periodo compreso tra l'autunno del 1914 e quello del 1918, e di un'appendice, che raccoglie nove scritti risalenti al decennio successivo, unita all'opera nel 1928. I testi, cronologicamente ordinati e distribuiti in tre sezioni, sono dunque il frutto di un lavoro non sistematico, discontinuo e diffuso nel tempo, caratterizzato da una varietà di temi e prospettive di riflessione, e da una marcata pluralità di registri espressivi. Essi condividono, tuttavia, il medesimo orizzonte etico, politico e culturale, delineato da un evento storico senza precedenti, come quello della guerra mondiale. Le cui complesse e dolorose vicende, che in molti casi vengono in primo piano, quale oggetto specifico del discorso crociano, sempre ne definiscono, altrimenti, lo sfondo problematico, circoscrivendo il perimetro spirituale di queste pagine.

In-8° (cm. 21,6x13,8), pp. pp. VIII, 161, (3). Brossura editoriale. "Taluni errori e talune lacune ... a me è parso di poter correggere ... Ho aggiunto in appendice alcuni dei parecchi DOCUMENTI che posseggo... attinenti al tentativo ... per la fomazione in Napoli di un corpo di VOLNTARI italiani. Napoli, novembre 1947". Caduto il fascismo, CROCE tornò per breve tempo alla vita politica attiva, come ministro senza portafoglio nel gabinetto Badoglio (aprile-giugno 1944) al quale parteciparono i sei partiti antifascisti del CLN, e nel primo gabinetto Bonomi (costituito il 18 giugno, ma il C. si dimise il 27 luglio); tenne sino al 1947 la presidenza effettiva del Partito liberale e sino al 1948 quella onoraria, fu consultore, deputato alla Costituente e dal 1948 senatore di diritto Ottimo esemplare.

Manifesto originale 1919.
Manifesto (cm. 70x100) stampato dalla Tipografia A. Marzi in Roma datato 1919 raffigurante cartina geografica dell’Italia nel periodo 1917-19. Sono indicate le ubicazione di: ospedali, case per profughi e per bambini, convalescenzari, cucine economiche, posti di conforto per prigionieri, posti di ambulanze, magazzini, infermerie, calzaturifici, laboratori, posti di ristoro, dislocamento truppe degli Stati Uniti, rappresentanze regionali, comuni sussidiati. Bella cornice figurata a colori con 30 fotografie b.n. raffiguranti: ambulanze sul fronte italiano; distribuzione di vettovaglie a Belluno, Trieste, Ancona; scuole di falegnami a Trevi; ospedali della CRA a Milano e Firenze; Casa di ristoro a Napoli e Milano; scuola di merletti a Palermo; scuole per ragazzi a Monteporzio; asilo a Varedo; la prima pietra per giochi della CRA a Milano; protezione dei bambini durante le incursioni aeree a Venezia; visita del colonello Perkins e del console Carroll all’asilo di Venezia. Un esemplare del presente manifesto in cromolitografia è conservato presso la Biblioteca Universitaria Alessandrina. Documento in ottime condizioni come da foto allegata. Rarissima testimonianza della presenza capillare della Croce Rossa Americana sul territorio italiano durante la Grande guerra. Il prezzo tiene conto della rara reperibilità del manifesto, delle inalterate condizioni di conservazione e della perfetta leggibilità.
