The one page of text is titled "A Notable Post" and refers to the George H. Thomas--Post No. 5 Grand Army of the Republic Department of Illinois. The final two pages contain an assemblage of portraits of past commanders of Post No. 5 which was organized August 21 1873 largely through the efforts of Col. Hiram Hilliard.
