Dale Mabry Field wos named in honor and memory of the late Captain Dale Mabry; a native of Tallahassee. Captain Mabry saw service abroad during the first World War from January 1918 to July 1919. His brilliant career was abruptly terminated when he was killed in the Airship 'Roma' disaster at Norfolk Virginia on February 21 1922. It is to him and men like him that this field is dedicated. The field is located some three miles from the City of Tallahassee Capital of the State of Florida. Dale Mabry Field has mushroomed from what was once a small municipal airport to one of the truly large Army Air Force fields in the Southeast. from a small group of officers and enlisted men who first arrived here in February 1941 to the thousands that are now stationed here and the thousands yet to come. pilots ground crews service crews those that fly them and those that 'keep 'em flying.' This large broadside seems to be designed as a summary for soldiers who served the text on one side detailing the planning and a pictorial map showing a trail from London to Bristol Catz Le Mans Etampes Paris Rheims Namur Liege Bonn from 4 March 1944 to 17 April 1945 with illustrated representations of each location. The text describes the Planning period Invasion Breakthrough Battle of the Bulge Conquest of Germany and Finale. W.W.II Allied route maps were created by both American and British forces during and after the war. This map combines the facts of battles and dates with an artistic content is historically informative. <br /> <br /> ADSEC was charged with: furnishing logistical support to US Army under Gen.
