Com corte das folhas dourado e folhas de guarda marmoreadas.</p>_x000d_<p>Exemplar com picos de traça na lombada e leves danos nas charneiras. </p>_x000d_<p>Salomon Gessner Zurique 1730-1788 foi um poeta pintor gravador jornalista e editor suíço de expressão alemã. Viveu em Zurique grande parte da sua vida com exceção dos anos 1749/50 vivendo nesses dois anos em Berlim e Hamburgo tendo servido como aprendiz de empregado de livraria. </p>_x000d_<p>Regressa então a Zurique onde abre uma editora em conjunto com o pai e se torna redator na Gazeta da Segunda-Feira esta impressa por seu pai. Mais tarde torna-se diretor da Biblioteca Pública de Zurique. </p>_x000d_<p>Cultiva a pintura e artes gráficas como principais projetos começando a escrever poesia em 1751 publicando <em>Lied eines Schweizers an sein bewaffnetes Mädchen</em> que lhe granjeou reputação junto dos intelectuais da época. </p>_x000d_<p>Continua a poesia bucólica enquanto desenha as paisagens para acompanhar os textos como gravuras sendo estes publicados em 1756 no seu livro intitulado <em>Idyllen</em> que lhe trará grande fama. Esta obra é reeditada em 1772 já com 52 destas peças sendo considerada a mais completa das suas obras. </p>_x000d_<p>Entre as obras publicadas destaca-se também <em>Der tod Abels</em> onde expressa o seu descontentamento com o avanço da modernidade na tradição pastoril.</p>_x000d_<p>Foi um dos fundadores da sociedade Patriótica e de fomento do Iluminismo <em>Helvetische Gesellschaft. </em><em><br /></em></p> SACO JS694-3 unknown

The collations of the two printings differ so they are distinct editions. A printed Dedication to Gessner signed by the Jacquemarts precedes a 4pp. Note by them.
