Elle a d'abord été connue sous le nom de Ligue communiste (LC) de 1969 à 1973, puis de Front communiste révolutionnaire (FCR) en 1973, avant de devenir la LCR en 1974. Le parti se dissout dans le Nouveau Parti anticapitaliste (NPA) en 2009. - De 1975 à 1978, la majorité de la LCR perd tout contrôle sur son secteur étudiant, pourtant formellement dirigé par François Sabado (expérience qui se répète en 1996-98...). Fort de son poids dans le mouvement étudiant de 1976, Dominique Losay alias Letourneau prend le contrôle du secteur étudiant et commence à imposer un tournant vers le syndicalisme. Lui et François Cortes alias Ulysse, ont avec eux la majorité absolue des étudiants de la Ligue. Derrière, avec Gilles Casanova alias Swanee, Robi Morder et Didier Leschi, une minorité plus polarisée sur les mouvements sociétaux échappe aussi au contrôle de la direction, rejoignant en 1977 les Comités communistes pour l'autogestion (CCA) où sont présents des pablistes. Dominique Losay alias Letourneau ainsi que Gluckstein mettent Gérard Filoche en minorité et prennent la tête de la T1 qu'ils font fusionner avec la T4 de Christian Leucate alias Némo et François Cortes alias Ulysse, prônant l'union PS-PC et l'alliance avec les lambertistes. La T2 de Alain Krivine s'oriente aussi vers l'idée du front unique PS-PC. De 1977 à 1981, la LCR dénonce la « politique de division » du PCF qui voit l'union se faire à son détriment. La LCR défend le maintien de « l'unité des organisations ouvrières ». Aux législatives de mars 1978, la LCR constitue des listes communes avec les CCA et l'Organisation communiste des travailleurs (OCT), intitulées « Pour le Socialisme, le Pouvoir aux travailleurs ». Celles-ci sont cependant un échec, et peu après, Rouge est confronté à d'importantes difficultés financières: 110 journalistes doivent être licenciés, Gérard Filoche étant chargé du plan social. Alors que Lambert propose à la Quatrième Internationale - Secrétariat unifié d'organiser des négociations en vue de l'union des trotskistes, Alain Krivine, réticent mais contesté en interne, accepte, en tentant de convaincre LO de s'y associer afin de ne pas se retrouver seul face à Pierre Lambert. LO est réticent. la LCR l'y pousse en acceptant l'union lors des élections européennes de juin 1979. La liste commune ne fait que 3,08 % (aucun élu). I diritti delle donne, della comunità gay e di qualunque altra minoranza sono in cima ai programmi di tutti i partiti che si dicono di sinistra. Le vittorie elettorali di populisti e demagoghi nelle democrazie più avanzate, allo stesso tempo, mettono in dubbio proprio quei diritti civili ormai dati per scontati da chi, quarant'anni fa, affermava che «il personale è politico». In questa situazione di stallo la tesi di Mark Lilla è che sostenendo battaglie politiche basate sull'identità la sinistra liberale abbia in realtà abdicato al suo ruolo. Abbracciando senza resistenze l'individualismo imposto da Reagan e Thatcher negli anni ottanta, i liberal hanno contribuito ad alimentare un sistema di valori antipolitico, rinunciando al consenso degli elettori per concentrare tutte le loro forze in un attivismo frammentario, portato avanti con intenzioni nobili, ma incapace di intaccare la realtà perché allergico ai necessari compromessi della rappresentanza. In questo j'accuse che ha riaperto la discussione sul futuro della sinistra americana dopo la vittoria di Trump, Lilla alza la posta in gioco, sfidando ogni convinto progressista a lasciarsi alle spalle l'ossessione per l'io per concentrarsi non su ciò che ci rende diversi l'uno dall'altro, ma su quanto condividiamo come cittadini dello stesso paese, e a immaginare un futuro per tutti. Soprattutto per i più deboli.‎

The publication contained mostly socialist interpretations of daily news, reports from Europe and Palestine, ideological papers, literature and sports. The issues are accompanied by b&w photographs and illustrations. These issues are numbered 36-47: January-December 1928. 310x240mm. 240 pages [each issue - 20 pages]. Marbled quarter-cloth Hardcover. Cover worn. Sticker traces on front cover. Cover edges worn, peeling and bumped. Spine worn. Pen inscription on spine. Few wormholes near spine edges. Two first pages bottom edge slightly torn.
