br. "Più volte ho avuto modo di rammentare l'amicizia che mi ha legato ad Arfè, intessuta di un prolungato ed intenso scambio intellettuale e politico, ed anche di iniziative comuni. In particolare, mi piace ricordare quella che, verso la metà degli anni '80, mirava a promuovere un centro d'iniziativa per il rinnovamento 'europeo' dell'insieme della sinistra italiana: essa non diede allora, in verità, i frutti sperati; ma fu certo un'occasione per ampliare un confronto critico (a volte anche polemico), ricco di spunti fecondi su questioni che si sarebbero presto rivelate essenziali. In tutto quel decennio cruciale, al dibattito sull'evoluzione della sinistra italiana ed europea venne effettivamente da Arfè un contributo assai significativo di conoscenza critica e di idee. br. Storico dell'arte per molti aspetti geniale e innovativo, Carlo Ludovico Ragghianti (1910-1987) è stato un protagonista a tutto tondo del "secolo breve". A fianco dell'attività didattica e di ricerca ha coltivato una passione civile che lo ha portato a impegnarsi nell'antifascismo clandestino prima e nella Resistenza armata, poi. Tra i fondatori del Partito d'Azione, è presidente del Comitato toscano di Liberazione nazionale e fondatore delle Brigate Rosselli in Toscana. Terminata la guerra, è a fianco di Ferruccio Parri come Sottosegretario alla Pubblica istruzione con delega alle Belle Arti e allo Spettacolo. Nel febbraio 1946 abbandona il Pd'A e segue La Malfa e Parri aderendo al movimento della Democrazia repubblicana. Il dopoguerra lo vede presente nel dibattito politico e culturale con un impegno che culmina nell'esperienza della rivista «Criterio», ultima vera espressione dell'azionismo. Esemplare in buone condizioni, lievi fioriture dovute alla qualità della carta, timbretti al primo e all'ultimo frontespizio. Libelli satirici fitti di allusioni decifrabili solo dagli iniziati, acrostici, vocaboli misteriosi scritti in tutte maiuscole, nomi propri chiaramente fittizi collegati con cifre; riferimenti alla kabbala, giochi numerici, poesie e indovinelli in piemontese; talora, dal linguaggio simbolico emergono nomi noti del tempo; i nobili: Robilant, Barolo, Collegno; gli intellettuali: Galeani Napione, il "medico Vallauri"; i politici: Solaro della Margarita, i funzionari: il censore Bessone, oppure quel sindaco di Bussolino, "comune... sito sulle falde dei colli di Torino", che essendo poco pratico di lettere, non riesce a compilare il "foglio di strada" per un giovane che intende recarsi ad Andezeno, non essendo in grado di tradurre "Ndsen" in italiano. E dopo avergli offerto di scrivere in vece Cocconato, Chieri, o Marentino, lo licenzia senza foglio di via, ragion per cui il viaggiatore incorre nei rigori della legge; i carabinieri di Andezeno, appurate le cause dell'infrazione, gli renderanno peraltro la libertà, "stabilendo poscia che necessità val legge". Tutti di ambiente torinese o comunque piemontese: Racconigi, come nel "Sonetto su S. Caterina di Racconigi"; Vercelli... Avvincente documentazione sull'ambiente culturale torinese dell'epoca e di come a fasi alterne, i Gesuiti si avvicendino "nella polvere... e sugli altar", siano banditi e ritornino, proprio in questi anni, dimostrando ancora una volta la perennità dell'istituzione. Cinque esemplari censiti in SBN, forse scompleti di alcune parti stando alla scheda.

Fine English Paperback. Foolscap 8vo. (17 x 12 cm). In English. 44 p. The main democratic force in Turkey as elsewhere is the working class which makes itself heard through its own political party. After the military coup d'etat of March 12th, 1971, a time of tough repression fell upon the working class and its legal political party was banned, but the working class emerged period of repression. The political party of the working class is being built and developed on this solid foundation.". Behice Boran was a Turkish Marxist politician, author, and sociologist. As a dissenting political voice from the left, Boran was repeatedly imprisoned for her work and died in exile after the Turkish military coup of 1980. Boran was born in Bursa to Volga Tatar parents whose families had settled in the Ottoman Empire during the 1890s. She graduated from American College for Girls in Istanbul, Turkey, and studied sociology at the University of Michigan in the United States. She received her Ph.D. in sociology in 1939 from Michigan and was involved in Marxism. She was nominated to Ankara University, Faculty of Language and History-Geography (AÜ, DTCF) as an associate professor. She also joined the clandestine Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) and began publishing left-wing periodicals, Yurt ve Dünya (English: Motherland and World) and Adimlar (English: Steps), which led to her sacking from the university. In 1950, she led the formation of the Turkish Peacelovers Association, which protested against Turkey's participation in the Korean War, which led to her arrest and a sentence of 15 months in prison. Between 1965-69, Boran served as a deputy from the Workers Party of Turkey (TIP) in the Turkish parliament. In 1970, she assumed the leadership of the party. She was arrested after the military coup of 1971 and sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment. After she was released following an amnesty, she re-established the TIP in 1975. After the military coup of 1980, Boran went into exile in Europe, living as a political refugee in Sofia, Brussels, and Düsseldorf. In 1987, she announced that TIP and TKP had decided to merge. She died soon after this press conference from heart disease in Brussels, Belgium. She was 77 years old. Her body was brought to Istanbul and her funeral turned into a mass demonstration, the first public show of force of Turkey's left-wing movement after the coup. (Wikipedia).
