‎Le récit de l'itinéraire personnel et politique de l'auteur. Ouvrier ajusteur et marin, Charles Tillon participa aux mutineries de la mer Noire en 1919, fut condamné à cinq ans de travaux forcés au Maroc, puis milita dans les rangs du Parti Communiste. Il suivit André Marty dans les rangs des Brigades Internationales en Espagne pendant la guerre civile. Pendant la guerre, Charles Tillon devint le commandant en chef des Francs-Tireurs et Partisans. Il sera ensuite ministre du général de Gaulle à la Libération, puis exclu du PCF en 1970... — "Déjà auteur d'une histoire passionnée des F.T.P. où il ne ménageait pas ses critiques à l'égard de la direction du Parti communiste, l'ancien président du comité militaire national des .F.T.P. n'a pas voulu retracer les péripéties de sa vie de militant et de responsable communiste ; tout au plus évoque-t-il brièvement, en ouvrant son récit, les épreuves qui la marquèrent dans les dernières années. C'est à la source qu'il a voulu remonter, à ses années d'enfance et d'adolescence bretonne ainsi qu'à un fait révolutionnaire : le mouvement de révolte que, quartier-maître âgé de 21 ans, il fut un de ceux à animer à bord du Guichen, en juin 1919 devant Itea, dans le golfe de Corinthe. « Ce livre avide de liberté raconte donc avant tout l'aventure d'une jeunesse révoltée » (p. 12). C'est cet esprit de liberté, de révolte qui traverse le livre et lui donne chaleur et jeunesse. Et le militant Ch. Tillon a trouvé, pour parler de ces années, un style ample constamment soutenu, un bonheur d'écrire, un ton où se mêlent émotion, lyrisme, indignation. Ii déroule ainsi le fil de ses souvenirs, une prime enfance dans la campagne bretonne, où la lutte entre les Bleus et les Blancs revêt toujours une certaine intensité, une dure enfance à Rennes, ses années de formation, le métier d'ajusteur appris à l'Ecole d'Industrie, le travail à l'Arsenal, l'adhésion à la CGT, l'engagement dans la marine comme mécanicien lorsque sa classe est appelée en 1916. Certaines pages sont traitées avec souffle : songeons à la description de la mobilisation à Rennes. Ce souffle, Ch. Tillon le retrouve naturellement pour évoquer l'aven-ture du Guichen employé au transport des troupes de Toulon à Salonique en pleine guerre sous-marine ; puis à partir de 1919 faisant le va-et-vient entre Tarente et Itea pour transporter les troupes coloniales envoyées en Russie du Sud. Toute cette partie du livre est passionnante : évocation de la guerre en Méditerranée en 1917-18, de l'état d'esprit des marins privés de nouvelles (mais à qui parviennent de temps en temps des journaux, comme la 'Vague' de Brizon), du fossé qui sépare les marins d'officiers dont la majorité n'est pas républicaine (on lira le récit ironique que fait l'auteur sur la visite de Delphes en compagnie d'un officier méprisant). Témoignage sur la façon étroite dont est appliquée la discipline (le commandant, après voir fait retarder le plus possible l'annonce de l'armistice du 11 novembre, refusa toute mesure exceptionnelle). On sent poindre dans le récit la révolte jusqu'au moment où celle-ci éclate un jour de juin 1919. D'abord protestation contre le refus du commandant, désireux de prolonger ses états de service, de rentrer en France, protestation contre les conditions d'une guerre qui se poursuit, la révolte des marins du Guichen prit, à la suite de celle des marins de la mer Noire, un sens révolutionnaire : « C'était d'abord contre l'interminable saignée et sur le fond de haine qu'elle mûrissait, que tous ceux qui, sur le Guichen, ne connaissaient que de nom la révolution russe avaient voulu instinctivement se rebeller. Mais notre refus, porté à son point extrême, nous solidarisait avec une révolution en danger » (p. 330). La dernière partie du livre raconte le procès qui fut fait aux principaux révoltés à Brest, devant un tribunal militaire, et les cinq années de travaux publics que l'auteur accomplit en France et au Maroc." (Nicole Racine, Le Mouvement social, 1970) Désormais les frais d'envoi sont de 6 € seulement pour les livres jusqu'à 1 kg (colissimo suivi), pour la France métropolitaine.‎

Includes criticism of Mehmet Ali Aybar and his group's separatist movement from party in the rule of Behice Boran, (1910-1987). Boran was a Turkish Marxist politician, author and sociologist. As a dissenting political voice from the left, Boran was repeatedly imprisoned for her work and died in exile after the Turkish military coup of 1980. Boran was born in Bursa to Volga Tatar parents whose families had settled in the Ottoman Empire during the 1890s. She graduated from American College for Girls in Istanbul, Turkey, and studied sociology at the University of Michigan in the United States. She received her PhD on sociology in 1939 from Michigan, and was involved in Marxism. She was nominated to Ankara University, Faculty of Language and History-Geography (AÜ, DTCF) as an associate professor. She also joined the clandestine Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) and began publishing left-wing periodicals, Yurt ve Dünya (English: Motherland and World) and Adimlar (English: Steps), which led to her sacking from the university. In 1950, she led the formation of the Turkish Peacelovers Association, which protested against Turkey's participation the Korean War, which led to her arrest and a sentence of 15 months in prison. Between 1965-69, Boran served as a deputy from the Workers Party of Turkey (TIP) in the Turkish parliament. In 1970, she assumed the leadership of the party. She was arrested after the military coup of 1971 and sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment. After she was released following an amnesty, she re-established the TIP in 1975. After the military coup of 1980, Boran went into exile in Europe, living as a political refugee in Sofia, Brussels and Düsseldorf. In 1987, she announced that TIP and TKP had decided to merge. She died soon after this press conference from heart disease in Brussels, Belgium. She was 77 years old. Her body was brought to Istanbul and her funeral turned into a mass demonstration, the first public show of force of Turkey's left-wing movement after the coup.‎
