A partire dalla fine degli anni Sessanta, con l’onda lunga del ’68 italiano, il manifesto è stato uno dei principali strumenti della comunicazione politica. Nel vivo di quelle mobilitazioni conobbe una vera e propria rinascita, sia nel linguaggio grafico che nei metodi d’informazione e agitazione. Questo libro svolge un’analisi dei codici comunicativi che i diversi partiti e movimenti italiani utilizzarono nei loro manifesti. La grafica politica si rinnovò anche sulla base degli stimoli e degli impulsi che provenivano da altri paesi, dai manifesti del Maggio parigino a quelli latinoamericani, dai disegni underground statunitensi ai grandi cartelloni della Cina maoista. Sperimentazioni grafiche che si intrecciarono a cliché più consueti, recuperati dall'iconografia del movimento operaio. Il confronto tra i manifesti italiani e quelli esteri e tra manifesti di differenti organizzazioni, più o meno distanti dai movimenti, mostra come il linguaggio della rivolta abbia influenzato l’immaginario politico nel suo complesso e le sue rappresentazioni iconiche, sconvolgendo anche la grafica dei partiti istituzionali. Il libro affronta, grazie anche al ricco apparato iconografico a colori, alcuni di questi temi dell’immaginario politico e si conclude con un’analisi della crisi del manifesto politico, nei primissimi anni Ottanta. Con il declinare dei movimenti e il ritorno della politica nei luoghi istituzionali, infatti, il ruolo di questo medium declinò e la pervasività della televisione lo rese progressivamente marginale o, per lo meno, ne cambiò profondamente la funzione. PERFETTO, MAI SFOGLIATO. SENZA SOVRACCOPERTA. "Buoi di ferro" è il nome che i contadini diedero ai primi trattori apparsi in Cina dopo la seconda guerra mondiale. Hinton andò in Cina nel gennaio del 1947. Nel 1949, col completamento della riforma agraria nelle regioni liberate del Nord, diventa possibile per la prima volta la meccanizzazione su vasta scala dell'agricoltura. In questo libro ci racconta appunto quella vicenda: il corso di addestramento a Dosso del Sud, la costituzione della fattoria statale di Chiheng, il dissodamento di terre incolte, la semina dei cereali con metodi moderni e i primo raccolto meccanizzato della Cina settentrionale. The woman who took these notes -- "a friend of truth and decency" -- supposedly mailed them to the right-wing sculptor Wheeler Williams who was active in anticommunist politics. Williams provides a Foreword to the notes saying he believes they're authentic. He says he shared the notes with colleagues and some former FBI undercover agents all of whom apparently believe the notes are genuine. <br /><br />Also in this pamphlet are articles on "subversion in art" lengthy excerpts from Williams's testimony to Congress on the Soviet uses of art and a piece by E. Merrill Root on conservative philosophy. <br /><br />This pamphlet is scarce.
