‎Image imprimée lors du pélerinage à Notre-Dame-de-Grace par les Paroisses, les Sociétés, les Corporations et les Confréries du canton de Honfleur sous la présidence de M. L'Evêque de Bayeux le 20 août 1899. La gravure qui représente la vierge sur un trois mats est reproduite d'après une estampe de la collection Pelay de Rouen.‎

‎Epreuve en tirage début XIXe sur un bois daté 1771. Un acrostiche de Charles Amourette, Maître en 1822, en l'honneur de Ste Marguerite, Ste Catherine et St Eustache, est imprimé par Bloquel dans une réserve en bas de l'image, donnant également les horaires des messes et précisant que les femmes enceintes ont recours à Ste Marguerite pour être délivrées.‎

Une feuille (44x35 cm), gravure sur bois, datée 1681, représentant la sainte Trinité, dans un superbe encadrement architectural renaissance, accompagné de saint Nicaise et saint Godard. En bas de la gravure, cinq personnages revêtus des habits de la confrérie, un lit dans lequel est un enfant malade, une femme lui soutenant la tête, un prêtre accompagné de trois assistants vient l'administrer. Mention de Pierre Delangre, Maître & Echevin en Charge en 1783. Marges renforcées.‎

‎Epreuve en tirage de 1783 sur un bois daté 1681. Inscription gravée en bas: Ce moule a esté donné par Me Daudebourg, ouvrier pour le Roy en la monnoi de Rouen. L'église Saint-Nicaise abritait une dizaine de confréries. De Beaurepaire: Mélanges Hist. et Archéo., 1897, p. 353.‎

‎Epinal, Pellerin, s.d. ( circa 1858). Gravure originale sur bois coloriée au pochoir sur papier fin (64 cm x 42 cm). Très bel état des couleurs. Très bon état malgré une petite fente au papier en marge droite sans atteinte au texte.‎

‎Dans la seconde moitié du XIXème siècle, l'Imagerie d'Epinal a édité de nombreux jeux divinatoires très appréciés à l'époque. En s'aidant de la grille en bas de l'image et d'un dé, le ou les joueurs pouvaient trouver certaines prédictions aléatoires. Quitte à y croire ou pas. Ce "sorcier du village" joue ainsi les oracles avec ses propres règles et ses réponses. Imagerie d'Epinal.‎

‎La bataille du 13 prairial an II (également appelée combat de Prairial ou troisième bataille d'Ouessant et Glorious First of June (Glorieux Premier Juin) dans les sources anglo-saxonnes) fut une importante bataille navale qui opposa les flottes britannique et française au large de l'île d'Ouessant entre le 28 mai et le 1er juin 1794.‎

‎Rouen, Georges de Hautot, 1914. Une feuille (535 x 360 mm) gravée sur bois en noir pour le St Nicolas, imprimée pour le texte de la légende qui est en français, l'oraison est dans les deux langues. Georges de Hautot a ajouté un texte en bas: "Je les vends SIX SOUS aux riches et UN SOU aux pauvres, au profit des réfugiés belges. Bon état général, quelques salissure, tampon de la Permanence des refugiés belges, 38 rue St Romain à Rouen.‎

‎Amusante image de Saint Nicolas et des trois enfants dans le baquet, avec la cathédrale de Rouen en arrière plan. La légende raconte que trois enfants, partis glâner dans les champs, sétaient au retour égarés. Attirés par une lumière, ils avaient rejoint une maison et frappé à la porte. Cest un boucher qui leur ouvrit, et qui fit mine daccepter de leur donner lhospitalité pour la nuit. En fait, sitôt les enfants entrés, il les tua, puis à laide de son grand couteau, les coupa en petits morceaux, pour finalement les mettre dans un grand baquet empli de sel, afin den faire du petit salé ! Bien plus tard, Saint Nicolas chevauchant son âne vint à passer et frappa à son tour à la porte du boucher. Lui réclamant du petit salé pour son dîner, il prit au piège le boucher, qui comprit quil était découvert. Saint Nicolas étendit trois doigts au dessus du tonneau de petit salé, et ressuscita les trois enfants, qui séveillèrent de leur long sommeil.‎

‎Rare image de confrérie de Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Port.‎

‎Dieppe, Boucher, sans date (fin XVIII ème siècle). Une feuille (25 x 20 cm), gravure sur bois représentant une scène de pèche avec saint Pierre donnant les clés à saint Firmin, flanquée des statues des mêmes saints, coiffée de la Vierge de Notre-Dame de Bon-Port. Bon état, trace de mouillure en pied.‎

‎Plusieurs communes maritimes normandes se sont mises sous la protection de Notre-Dame de Bon-Port, comme Saint-Valéry-en-Caux (église récente, 1963), Quillebeuf ou encore l'abbaye cistercienne de Pont-de-l'Arche dans l'Eure. Nous pencherions plus pour l'église de Quillebeuf, vu son importance maritime, bien qu'il n'y ai pas de référence aux saints pré-cités. Sur le vitrail de l'Education de la Vierge, en bas des deux lancettes, la procession de cette confrérie a été peinte vers 1600.‎

‎Belle image de Saint Michel terrassant le dragon devant le Mont-Saint-Michel. Dans un cartouche: "Erigée en Charité par notre Saint-Père le Pape Benoît XIV le 6 août 1754 et reçue à Evreux par Monseigneur l'évèque le 27 septembre de la même année. Cette gravure a été renouvelée en 1848, sous la gestion de L. -A. Mouchard." Abel-Léonidas Blondel, né en 1831 à Bolbec, était un imprimeur lithographique et typographique installé à Rouen au 65 rue Cauchoise de 1866 à 1871, puis au 21 jusqu'en 1926.‎

‎Seconde édition de ce recueil d’Étienne de Jouy (1764-1846), journaliste, critique et auteur dramatique. Arrêté et condamné durant la Terreur il s’exila en Suisse. Il participa au Caveau et fut élu à l’Académie française en 1815 au fauteuil de Parny.L’ouvrage commence par un curieux dialogue entre l’hermite et le libraire, qui éclaire le lecteur sur l’origine et le contenu de ces cinq volumes. Il s’agit d’une compilation d’articles de journaux : « Ces bleuettes littéraires ne sont faites que pour amuser le lecteur pendant qu’il déjeûne (sic), ou pour l’endormir quand il se couche ; encore, la plupart du tems (sic), ne remplissent-elles que la dernière partie de leur destination. Elles n’ont qu’un jour à vivre et je ne vois pas la nécessité de les enterrer ensemble » (Avant-propos).Ainsi, l’ouvrage regroupe nombre d’articles parus dans le Bulletin moral de la situation de Paris entre le 17 août 1811 et le 30 avril 1814. Parmi les sujets traités on relèvera : la journée d’un commissionnaire (I), une visite des catacombes (II), une promenade à la bibliothèque impériale (III), les obsèques de Grétry (IV), une exécution place de Grève (IV), visite de la morgue (V)… Le comparant à Voltaire, Legouvé disait de Jouy : « C’est la même manière de voir et de peindre la société parisienne, la même ironie mêlée de grâce, la même légèreté de plume, la même gaîté d’esprit ». L’illustration se compose de nombreuses vignettes dans le texte, de 5 frontispices et de 3 planches, gravés sur cuivre par Maradan, Roger, Coupé, etc. d’après les compositions de Desenne.À travers cette illustration, Desenne « croqua le tableau le plus complet et le plus gai de la vie parisienne à la fin du premier Empire et au début de la Restauration, écrivant l’histoire des coutumes françaises et promenant le lecteur dans les salons, dans les galetas, à travers les rues, jusque dans les prisons, les catacombes, les bureaux de nourrice » (Calot, Michon et Angoulvent, L’Art du livre en France, page 154).Cette seconde édition est bien complète avec 5 frontispices et 3 gravures. Chaque volume connut de très nombreuses rééditions et ce n’est qu’à partir de la cinquième édition des volumes 1 et 2 que l’éditeur ajouta deux gravures. Précieux exemplaire broché, condition très rare, bien conservé malgré les dos brunis et quelques réparations aux couvertures notamment des volumes 2, 3 et 5. Rousseurs éparses essentiellement dans le premier volume, petit manque dans le coin supérieur du dernier feuillet du tome 4.Bibliographie : Calot, Michon et Angoulvent, L’Art du livre en France, page 154.‎

A solid copy of the Seattle underground paper <p>Helix joined a burgeoning underground press then including groundbreaking alternative papers the East Village Other the Los Angeles Free Press the Fifth Estate and the Berkeley Barb. Founded by Paul Sawyer Paul Dorpat and Lorenzo Milam it sprang from their intellectual fervor at the Free University an alternative thinktank they also founded. Eventually star-illustrator Walt Crowley assumed editorship.</p> <p>A pebble in the shoe of Seattle establishment the "hip rag" brought attention to civic injustice by rallying its youthful readership to activism. The apogee of that effort followed the 1970 killing of students at Kent State: over the course of May 5-8 Helix organized protests that blocked US Interstate 5 while marching between the University District and rallies at the Federal Courthouse in downtown Seattle. Includes an article on Boeing's SST. Article on Jerry Rubin ads for Three Dog Night at the Seattle Center Arena B.B. King at the Eagles Auditorium with Floating Bridge opening.
