Volume 1 has been rebound in modern sympathetic brown cloth and is approx. half an inch shorter in height. Volume 2 has splits to the spine and the backstrip is slightly loose. Volume 3 has had the spine strengthened with Sellotape. Volume 4 is generally rubbed. All 4 volumes have a single library stamp on the title pages but the text is generally clean. All volumes have library booking forms and other marks on front endpapers. The Atlas volume is the same size but is bound with a leather spine with raised bands and gilt lettering. The same library marks occur. There are 42 county maps including Isle of Man Jersey Guernsey many of which have been strengthened with paper backing. There are also the folding maps of London and England and Wales as called for. These have also been strengthened. All maps except the England and Wales map have a single purple library stamp on them in the image area.
