Je te confirme ma dépêche qui vient de partir, je travaille avec un acharnement que tu prends de loin pour de la lenteur. Et puis ce qui retarde encore l'envoi des 3 derniers actes c'est cette idée lumineuse que j'ai eue de faire imprimer mon manuscrit. Hier j'exprimais au prote mon impatience. Il me répondit avec un pauvre air navré: 'Monsieur, je manque de caractère!'. C'est touchant. Mais surtout, il ne faut pas que tu sois inquiet. Comme je ne veux pas que ton attente dure un jour de plus, voici la description illustrée des deux décors que je souhaite pour les trois derniers actes. 2e acte [followed by an illustration] 3 et 4eme actes [followed by an illustration]. Il n'ya d'indispensables dans ces deux décors que les deux portes et l'antichambre et la rampe d'escalier du 2eme acte, et, au 3eme et 4eme actes ce qui est indispensable c'est l'herbe, les pommiers, l'entrée de la maison, l'allée et un panorama au fond. Les arrangements que j'ai apportés à ma pièce ne nécessitent plus qu'un seul acte à condition qu'il dure une bonne demi heure. Et si cet acte ne doit toucher que 10 frs ce qui est son cas, je préfère qu'il soit d'un ami. Si on reprenait 'quand il y en a pour deux' hein? Et Dorgère? Je ne crois pas que ce soit une mauvaise idée. Ça peut peut-être l'amuser de jouer sans payer. A ce propos je te communique trois petits projets d'affiches: [followed by 3 illustrations for "Un Beau Mariage"] As-tu vu Madame Henriot pour le rôle de Madame Beauthier? Qu'est-ce qu'on fera pour la 10eme? Répètes le 1er septembre? Jamais je n'ai vu un homme aussi méchant que toi. As-tu reçu tes crevettes? The three typescript leaves cover a diaglogue between Beaumarchais and Louis XVI. - The manuscript for the film "Franklin et Beaumarchais", treating Franco-American relations and France's support of the recently-founded United States, consists mostly of the narrator's part.
