Barth (füllt) eine wichtige Lücke, zumal sich der Autor nicht damit begnügt, die verschiedenen Techniken der Perlenstickerei zu beschreiben, sondern zu ihren Wurzeln vordringt. La casa passiva è in realtà una straordinaria performance progettuale, più che semplicemente energetica, perché induce una infinita varietà di combinazioni progettuali, innanzitutto per non sprecare materiali, energia, comfort, benessere e poi per dimostrare le infinite scoperte della ricerca scientifica, tecnologica, politica disponibili sotto una luce diversa, quella della globalizzazione intesa come interrelazione complessa. Richard Buckminster Fuller, più di sessant'anni fa, passò alla storia con il suo detto pensa globale, agisci localmente ed è proprio questo il momento per la svolta del costruire, che è sostanzialmente rimasto invariato nelle sue prerogative materico-fisiche: non dobbiamo trasformare in contenitori ermetici gli ambienti in cui trascorriamo ormai quasi il 90% del nostro tempo, ma al contrario dobbiamo osare nell'imitare la Natura realizzando edifici capaci di gestire le risorse naturali, a cominciare dal sole, liberi di inventare le configurazioni più svariate.

Text in German. The sale consisted entirely of items designed or created by E. R. Weiss. Numerous examples of his book bindings, typography, drawings, paintings and etchings. Il libro affronta gli aspetti produttivi, ma anche le necessarie componenti e dinamiche riguardanti fattori funzionali, estetici, simbolici legati all'immaginario collettivo che si affiancano al produrre.
