The most striking thing to recommend this copy is the pristine condition of the exquisite Art Nouveau binding design. Panels of darkest olive green with clematis blooms and intertwined stems grace the cover and spine. The flowers are embellished with gilt and deep red that is also used for the panel borders. Gilt titles and top edge gilt. A prize certificate from the Croydon Education Committee dated March 1906 is affixed to the front pastedown. There is some offsetting on to the front free endpaper and a trace of browning on the rear free endpaper.else the book is as fine fresh and crisp as the day it was published.</p>
