Pauline Martin entered the same convent as Therese and Marie and Celine and was the Mother Prioress of the Lisieux Carmel when Marie the eldest of the Martin sisters died. It is the custom that when a Carmelite sister dies the Mother of that Carmel is to write a short sketch of her life to be distributed to all Carmelite convents. This small book is that sketch though a bit longer than is usual because of the close relationships of those involved. Very minor wear to the covers with a previous owner's name stamped on the front cover very faintly and "Martin Marie" written in ink above it. Otherwise clean with a sound binding.
