Morocco leather over boards with elaborate stampings tooling and gilding on the spine and both boards. Doublured paste down end papers with leather surrounds Gilded dentelle decorations on the board edges and the leather end paper borders. The end papers are a vine and berry motif with gilded outlining of all patterns. Tissue protected frontis of "Notre Dame du Divin Amour" with one other tissue protected engraving of "Notre Dame de Consolation facing page 528. The text block edges are gilt over a red sizing. One triclour book mark ribbon green/red/gold set into the headband. Previous owner's name and date written on the recto of third preliminary page a blank page. Aside from this the book appears to have been used very little if at all. All gilding is still very bright and the leather shows no signs of wear. Included is the original drop lid black box though the box is quite worn on all corners and seams with some seams and corners being split.
