DESCRIZIONE: Edizioni "Him" Roma 1941 br. ed. pp. 88 in 16°. Secondo l’A. il popolo armeno è il più sventurato del Vicino Oriente. Il loro territorio è spartito fra più Stati. Gli armeni, pur essendo un popolo laborioso, vengono regolarmente osteggiati dai governi dei Paesi in cui emigrano. Nel libro recensito Mainardi riepiloga la storia dell’Armenia, per consentire di comprendere meglio le relazioni fra questa e l’Unione Sovietica. I territori armeni fino alla Grande Guerra erano stati divisi fra Russia, Turchia e Persia. Nella zona turca erano state compiute stragi di armeni. Questi ultimi nelle guerre turco-russe avevano appoggiato i russi, nella speranza di essere liberati dall’invasore turco, poiché ritenevano che la dominazione russa sarebbe stata preferibile. Anche in Russia però gli armeni furono perseguitati. Dopo la Guerra Mondiale furono create le tre repubbliche formalmente indipendenti di Armenia, Georgia e Azerbaigian.
