8vo. 13 pages, plus a fold-out map. Text is in German. This is a complete monthly issue, containing the above mentioned account. Attractively bound booklet style in recent blue paper covers with label. An interesting description on ocean tides, using two harbours as example. Features Skælskør (Skaelskor), now a quaint town in the Slagelse municipality, and the fortified port Corsoer, both on the Danish island of Zealand in the Baltic Sea. These are the original pages printed in 1799, and NOT a reprint. This narrative is from a rare multi-volume geographical and scientific journal titled "Allgemeine Geographische Ephemeriden", which issued fifty volumes from 1798-1816 and which encompassed critical contemporary topics of geography and astronomy. Adam Christian Gaspari and Franz Xaver von Zach were editors of this important scientific journal.

Hardcovers half bound in tan leather with marbled paper covered boards. Both bindings rebacked with leather and with the worn original leather back strips laid down. Bindings are rubbed with corners rubbed down to boards. Prior owner's bookplates on front pastedown of first volume for. Baron De Melogue 20th century and Albert Rowe Merrill 19th Century. A clipping affixed to the bottom of the front pastedown contains a description of the book. Endpapers are foxed in both volumes also have some smudging. The second front flyleaf has an index of names and page numbers in pencil. The third front flyleaf has two small clippings about the book. The text in both books are toned with foxing. Illustrated with 18 copperplate engravings mostly portraits. Reliures en demi basane aubergine, dos lisses légèrement passés ornés d'arabesques dorées, petites traces de frottements sur certains dos, roulettes dorées sur les coiffes, coiffes élimées comportant pour certaines quelques petits manques, encadrements d'un filet doré sur les plats agrémentés d'un décor romantique estampé à froid, feuilles de laurier dorées surmontées d'un couronne dorée et comportant la mention "collège de Chateau-Thierry Ainse" frappés aux centres des premiers plats, pointillés dorés sur les coupes, gardes et contreplats de papier à la cuve, tranches marbrées, reliures de l'époque.Notre exemplaire est bien complet de son rare atlas qui manque presque toujours. L'atlas complet de ses 31 planches gravées, à la date de 1819, est relié en pleine basane marine, dos lisse orné de doubles filets dorés comportant deux accrocs restaurés, légers accrocs sur les coupes.
