‎Second tirage, présentant 8 pp. de documents supplémentaires après la page 40, qui terminait le premier tirage.L'opuscule s'insère dans la construction / reconstruction de la mémoire de la Révolution et de l'Empire à travers les notices des dictionnaires biographiques sur lesquelles Jean-Luc Chappey a attiré l'attention dans son ouvrage Ordres et désordres biographiques (2013). En l'occurrence ici, le publiciste Germain Sarrut (1800-1883), co-rédacteur - avec Edme-Théodore Bourg -, de la très libérale Biographie des hommes du jour, conteste la version donnée par Bertrand Clauzel sur son rôle dans l'abdication du Roi de Sardaigne Charles-Emmanuel IV de ses possessions continentales lors de la Campagne de Piémont de 1798. En fait, à travers Sarrut, c'est la version de Grouchy (dont Clauzel était alors le chef d'état-major) qui s'oppose rétrospectivement à celle de son ancien subordonné.
