Reliure en demi veau glacé noisette d'époque. Dos à faux nerfs orné de filets gras et maigres, à froid et à chaud, roulette en queue et tête. Pièce de titre de chagrin noir. Traces de frottements. Brunissures éparses, notamment en page de titre, puis essentiellement dans les marges, mais de manière erratique. Un petit manque au mors inférieur en queue. Bel exemplaire. Voyage qui commence au lac majeur de Duomo d'Ossola, petite ville sur la frontière italienne en 1817 et s'achève en 1818 à Suze, près de Turin. Outre l'intérêt du voyage en Sicile et sur l'Etna, à Pompéi et Herculanum, l'ensemble du voyage brille de certaines résonnances politiques, puisqu'il fut fait au lendemain de l'Empire et à l'aube des révolutions italiennes.
