Aperta la porta della propria stanza, una cliente di un albergo alpino di Zuers, sull'Arlberg (Austria) ha scorto sul pavimento un'aquila delle rocce, che, fracassando una finestra era penetrata nella stanza e, indebolita dalla perdita di sangue, vi si era trattenuta. L'animale fu poi catturato.

Nei pressi di Sankt Polten (Austria) , la locomotiva di un treno scoppiava : vi si trovavano un ingegnere, che, lanciatosi a terra fu travolto dal treno, un macchinista, che riuscì a fermare il convoglio ma morì per le ustioni riportate e un fuochista, che si diede alla fuga e fu ritrovato pazzo.

Dal punto di vista giuridico la neutralizzazione costituzionale è affine a quella permanente, adottata per esempio da Svizzera o Città del Vaticano, pur non basandosi su un accordo internazionale: essa poggia sulla legge fondamentale di uno stato, impegnandolo a non aderire in tempo di pace ad alleanze militari (la legge austriaca vieta espressamente anche l’installazione sul territorio nazionale di basi militari straniere), e sancendo la sua volontà a rimanere estraneo a qualsiasi conflitto futuro. Conseguenza dell'occupazione quadripartita, e di una esplicita richiesta dell'Unione Sovietica come condizione per loiberare l'Austria dall'occupazione col Trattato di Stato del 1955..
