He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1911 for his many literary activities. His fictional work plays an important part of the Symbolist movement. In a half quarter morocco binding with paper covered boards and gilt stamped detailing to spine. Externally smart with some minor rubbing to the extremities and to the head and tail of spine. His other works include 'The Intelligence of Flowers' 'The Life of the Ant' and 'The Life of Space'. He also published 'The Life of Termites' in 1926 but this has been accused of being plagiarised from 'The Soul of the White Ant' by Eugene Marais.This work has particular emphasis on the social life of the honeybee.With charming gilt detail to the spine and the gilt emblem of Central Newcastle High School to the cover.Undated dated from copies on Library Hub.
