Text with numerous graphics and 23 plates including foldouts are in an excellent state surprisingly clean crisp and bright for the age. Half leather marbled boards are rubbed on edges but minimal wear on faces. Gilt lettering on leather spine is fine but the 5 raised bands are rubbed. The only serious defect see photos is the front and back hinges the seam connecting boards to spine are cracking from the outside no visible damage in marbled endpapers. For now the binding is tight but it is only a matter of time before the boards separate. Rebinding the original paperback protected the text from wear and tear but now that very binding is fragile.
