A picture of th Hill p. 168: "Labillardiere was aboard the expedition under d'Entrecasteaux which was sent out to search for the missing Laperouse. Although unsuccessful in the search, the voyage was of considerable importance due to the scientific observations made and also for surveys of the coasts of Tasmania, New Caledonia, the north coast of New Guinea, and the southwest coast of Australia. Labillardiere's account of the Tongans is among the best contributions to the ethnology of that people." Cox 69: "of considerable importance. . . Labillardiere gives the first scientific description of the New Zealand flax and brought back several New Zealand plants." The plates include plants, birds, native peoples.

Bumping and discolouration to the top and bottom spine edges and shelfwear to the lower book edges. Foxing and browning to the paper edges. Offset tanning browning and very light foxing to the end papers and internal pages have become slightly aged toned. Illustrated dustwrapper by Treld Pelkey with white and writing on the front panel and white on the spine. Rubbing and very slight chipping to the dust wrapper corners and to the top and bottom spine edges. There is a very small closed tear to the lower rear dustwrapper panel edge. Some marking to the lower spine edges also occurred. A few foxing spots to the verso site of the dust wrapper. The history of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps -- Anzac -- soldiers and how they became revered soldiers worldwide. A book in tribute of the 50th landing at Gallipoli.
