Professor Thorburn Brailsford Robertson 1884-1930 was a South Australian biochemist of world renown but he also 'pioneered many avenues of thought publishing some 170 papers textbooks essays on the philosophy of science and research even children's storybooks' 'Australian Dictionary of Biography'. This small posthumous publication edited by his widow deals with telepathy. The notes were set down 'as my own private memoranda and to point to myself the way and the field of endeavour which it is my hope that I may one day have the opportunity to enter. It is of all fields the most worthy of study the one of most real import to man'. The first note is dated 28 July 1913 and the last 8 December 1918. 'These notes and his paper "Consciousness and the Sense of Time" June 1923 alone remain to testify to his deep interest in phenomena which are as he states "a part of natural law and a proper subject of scientific enquiry"' preface. This copy is inscribed signed and dated 22 July 1932 by Jane W. Robertson as 'Jeannie Robertson' to 'Mr Marston' Hedley Ralph Marston 1900-1965 biochemist a prot�g� of Brailsford Robertson was head of CSIRO's Division of Animal Nutrition when it solved the problems caused by deficiencies of trace elements in the soils of South Australia. Loosely inserted is an autograph letter signed by Jeannie Robertson to Marston octavo one page Mt Lofty July 22 1932. She discusses practical aspects of the book 'I should much have liked a stiff cover but could not manage it. Perhaps you will bind it in green to match the others' and thanks Marston for his contribution to it. The Hassell Press paperback

A catalogue printed on card listing the 159 photographs in the exhibition; the front cover is signed in pencil by the photographer. Offered together with an album of related photographs: a large portrait of Robinson 14 snapshots of scenes at the exhibition 6 examples of Robinson's work and a review cutting. None of this is momentous but this well-presented album is surprisingly engaging. Three copies of The Australasian Photo-Review from 1947 and 1948 containing Several copies of A copy of the recently published biography of Eric Robertson's daughter 'Barbara Robertson. An Australian Artist's Life' by Lorraine McLoughlin 2009 is also included; it contains relevant family history. Adelaide Camera Club unknown

Wallis' travels in the Pacific followed Anson's and Byron's earlier voyages and included extensive exploration of the Magellan Straits and the Tuamotu Archipelago. Roberston's version of the voyage adds a different perspective and much additional information. This is the first printed version of Robertson's journal. Carrington's extensive introduction provides a useful historical point of view and gives much detail on the voyage. See Hill p. 555 for the 1955 edition. National Maritime Museum I 131: 'This journal written by the master of the Dolphin under Wallis covers the period when he joined her in the Thames in June 1766 until reaching Uea Wallis Island in the Western Pacific in 1767. Wallis' circumnavigation voyage in the Dolphin 1766-8 included visits to Tahiti and the Tuamotu Archipelago'. A picture of this book is available on request by email. Black-and-white illustrated frontispiece which folds out showing H. M .A .S. Dolphin in Matavai Bay Tahati; the fold out section has a triangular crease small running the full length of the page. The text is illustrated with another 5 black-and-white illustrations and two black-and-white maps. The fore paper edge and bottom paper edge are deckled. Blue coloured boards with self embossed decoration and gilt illustration of a ship on the front and back panels and gilt writing on the spine. Hakluyt Society Second Series No. 98 XCVIII. The discovery of Tahati in 1766. The first reprint of the original Journal. Bumping with some fraying to the head and to the heel of the spine. Bumping to the top book edge also the lower and the book corners as well. Some fading to be cloth of the book and to the rear gilt illustration. Browning and foxing to the top paper edge.
