Some very neat ink markings to menu items crossing out of changing prices overall clean and bright. Illustrated bifolium. Illustrated wrappers of a birds-eye view of the city. 7-3/4" x 6" <br/><br/>"The Café de la Paix opened June 30 1862 to serve the Grand-Hôtel de la Paix named after the nearby rue de la Paix whose name was later shortened to Grand-Hôtel.2 It serviced visitors of Expo exhibition in 1867. Its proximity to the Opéra attracted many famous clients including Jules Massenet Émile Zola and Guy de Maupassant. The Café is also the setting for the poem "The Absinthe Drinkers" by the Canadian poet Robert Service." wiki The restaurant still sands today and was issued historical landmark status from the French government in 1975. unknown books

Binding is solid and square, covers have sharp corners, exterior shows no blemishes, text/interior is clean and free of marking except for previous owner's name on title page and coffee stain over lower edge of last 1/4 of the book; doesn't affect prints.. 22 color, 62 bw plates, issued in conjunction with a 1966-1967 series of exhibitions for Jules Pascin (1885-1930). Pascin lead a fascinating and outrageous life in Paris and New York, this is the first major museum exhibition of his work.Text by Tom Freudenheim, many examples of his work, biographical chronology, exhibitions, a list of Pascin cartoons published in 'Simplicissimus,' bibliography, exhibition catalogue. One of 5000 copies.
