Seit 1923 Theaterkritiker der rechtsextremen ‘Deutsch-österreichischen Tageszeitung’, schloß er sich Ende der zwanziger Jahre dem Nationalsozialismus an und baute u. a. 1936 den ‘Bund deutscher Schriftsteller Österreichs’ auf. 1938 für kurze Zeit kommissarischer Leiter des Wiener Burgtheaters, trat er noch im selben Jahr wegen Differenzen mit Joseph Goebbels zurück, setzte sich jedoch weiterhin publizistisch unablässig für das Regime ein. 1945 von den sowjetischen Besatzern verhaftet und als Hochverräter angeklagt, wurde er 1950 schließlich freigesprochen und war anschließend wieder schriftstellerisch tätig.

An einen namentlich nicht genannten Adressaten: "Von einer Arbeitsfülle erdrückt, während mir langjährige Krankheit nur ein geringes Maass von Arbeit gestattet, komme ich erst heute dazu, Ihr freundliches Schreiben vom 11. d. zu beantworten und zwar leider dahin, daß es mir für jetzt ganz unmöglich ist, Ihren Wunsch zu erfüllen, daß ich Ihnen überhaupt nicht mit Sicherheit versprechen kann, ob und wann mir solches möglich sein wird, da meine ganze Arbeitskraft, die kaum 4 Hefte jährlich producirt, von 2 grösseren Verlagshandlungen definitiv in Beschlag genommen ist [...]". - Nach seiner Tätigkeit als Theaterkapellmeister in Posen, Bromberg und Kopenhagen (1857/58) und nach zahlreichen Konzerten in Skandinavien wirkte Jensen in Königsberg an der Musikakademie als Direktor (1861/62), Lehrer und Pianist neben A. Rubinstein und C. Schumann. Eine sich zunehmend verschlechternde Lungenerkrankung zwang ihn nach 1869 zu einem zurückgezogenen Leben, das "im Verkehr mit Geistern wie Bülow, Brahms und Cornelius, Hamerling und Heyse Anregung und Förderung" fand (MGG VII, 2). Seinen Zeitgenossen galt Jensen als "eins der bedeutendsten melodischen Talente der neueren Zeit" (Weisfert, Biogr.-litterar. Lex. f.d. Haupt- u. Residenzstadt Königsberg und Ostpreußen, 2. Ausg., 1898, zit. n. DBA I 604, 359).

Although it could be bolder still a large and easily readable example. The play was first staged in 1993 at the California Institute of the Arts under the title "Oswego" but was later staged under the alternate title "Haven" at the Gindi Theatre in Los Angeles in 2001. <br /> <br /> Playwright Jerome Coopersmith wrote prolifically for television and the stage throughout the mid- to late-twentieth century. He is best remembered today for his writing for "Hawaii Five-O" 1968-1980 and the 1974 Christmas television special "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" but also contributed episodes for "Armstrong Circle Theater" "The Streets of San Francisco" "Combat!" "Spenser for Hire" and others. In 1965 he received a Tony nomination for the Sherlock Holmes Broadway musical "Baker Street" and wrote and co-wrote a number of off-Broadway plays.<br /> <br /> Self wrappers. Title page present noted as Revised and dated September 2015 with credits for Gruber Coopersmith composer William Goldstein and lyricist Joe Darion. 108 leaves with last page of text numbered II-100. In 1978 National Lampoon began touring their second music and comedy theatrical production their first being the widely acclaimed "Lemmings" from 1973. Named after and featuring some of the sketches from their 1977 comedy album the "That's Not Funny That's Sick!" music and comedy roadshow toured college campuses throughout the US in the spring of 1978 in anticipation of and to promote the summer release of "Animal House." Featuring Rodger Bumpass Sarah Durkee Lorraine Lazarus and Andrew Moses as The National Lampoon Players with skits songs and music from Christopher Guest Tony Hendra Doug Kenney Paul Shaffer Brian Doyle-Murray Gilda Rader John Belushi and many many other National Lampoon alumni.<br /> <br /> 5.5 x 8.5 inches.
