Lamoureux, Charles, Dirigent und Violinist (1834-1899).
Eigenh. Brief mit U. („Ch. Lamoureux“). Paris, 14. XII. 1883.
1 S. auf Doppelblatt. Gr.-8vo.

Lamoureux, Charles, French composer and violinist (1834-1899).
2 autograph letters signed. Paris, 17 Sept. 1896 and 31 Dec. 1898.
8vo. - The second letter to the music publisher Carl Enoch, concerning the upcoming stage premiere of Emmanuel Chabrier's unfinished last opera Briséïs. Lamoureux had conducted the first concert staging of the piece in 1897 and expresses his joy that it will soon be staged at the opera, mentioning the flutist Paul Taffanel and the opera director Pedro Gailhard as being involved in the project. He also mentions that Chabrier's widow "essentially thinks that it is she who directs the piece", as she is "the interpreter of the feelings of her poor husband". Briséïs premiered on 8 May 1899 at the Paris Opera, a few months later than Lamoureux had expected. - Minor foxing. The letter from 1898 with traces of former mounting.

Lamoureux, Charles, French composer and violinist (1834-1899).
Autograph letter signed. No place, "Dimanche matin".
8vo. 1 page. To a friend inviting him to join his meeting with the Austrian composer and pianist Adalbert von Goldschmidt (1848-1906), whose oratorio "Sieben Todsünden'" Lamoureux conducted at its Paris premiere in 1885: "J'ai donné rendez-vous à Mr. Goldschmidt chez moi ce matin à 10 heures. [...]". - On stationery with embossed monogram.

Lamoureux, Charles, French conductor and violinist (1834-1899).
Autograph letter signed. Paris, 9. X. 1893.
8vo. 1 page. To the cellist and conductor Achille Kerrion (1868-1939), whose letter dismayed him somewhat, considering what Lamoureux had said to him and his colleagues on the Saturday past, which Kerrion, who is now in doubt as to Lamoureux's affection, seems to have misunderstood - doubts he hopes to dispel by inviting him to attend a rehearsal that morning: "Je n'ai pu trouver le temps de répondre à ta lettre qui m'a fait un peu de peine, surtout après ce que j'ai dit, à toi et à tes collègues violoncellistes à la répétition de Samedi. - On headed stationery of the "Concerts Lamoureux", the orchestral concert society founded by Lamoureux in 1881. - Remnants of a strip of paper mounted on verso.

Tomo I: Aerofoni e cordofoni.
