È importante non interromperne mai bruscamente l'assunzione perché le crisi di astinenza possono consistere in gravi sintomi emotivi e fisici che possono essere pericolosi e portare al suicidio, alla violenza e all'omicidio. Se avete un problema di salute mentale andare dallo psichiatra potrebbe rivelarsi controproducente. Non credete a tutto ciò che vi viene detto sui disturbi psichiatrici o sugli psicofarmaci. È probabile che sia sbagliato. Credete in voi stessi. Probabilmente avete ragione e il vostro medico si sbaglia. Non ignorate le vostre intuizioni o i vostri sentimenti. Potete facilmente essere portati fuori strada se non vi fidate di voi stessi. Non lasciate mai che gli altri abbiano la responsabilità della vostra vita. Mantenete il controllo e fate domande. Evitate i terapeuti che ripongono fiducia assoluta negli psicofarmaci.

Tra questi: le diagnosi psichiatriche sono affidabili; fornire alle persone una spiegazione biologica o genetica dei loro disturbi mentali riduce la stigmatizzazione; il consumo di psicofarmaci rispecchia il numero di persone con disturbi mentali; le persone con disturbi mentali soffrono di uno squilibrio chimico nel cervello e gli psichiatri possono aggiustare questo squilibrio con i farmaci, proprio come gli endocrinologi usano l'insulina per il diabete; il trattamento a lungo termine con gli psicofarmaci è corretto perché previene la recidiva della malattia; il trattamento con gli antidepressivi non provoca dipendenza; il trattamento di bambini e adolescenti con antidepressivi protegge dal rischio di suicidio; depressione, ADHD e schizofrenia provocano un danno cerebrale; i farmaci possono prevenire il danno cerebrale.

I vaccini non sono tutti uguali e Gøtzsche ce lo spiega dettagliatamente. Un libro potente, provocatorio e ricco di informazioni. È diretto, non polemico e si basa su fatti che aiutano ad aprirsi un varco attraverso tutte le informazioni fuorvianti e la propaganda mediatica. Dimostra ancora una volta che mettere in discussione le autorità sanitarie pubbliche, non fa di te un no vax o un anti-farmaco. Ti trasforma da paziente ciecamente fiducioso a difensore informato della tua salute.
