Parte da questi due semplici assunti l'idea di Zero, nessuno e centomila, viaggio nella carriera di uno degli artisti più eccentrici e longevi della storia della canzone italiana alla ricerca di quell'elemento tutto teatrale che è alla base dell'unicità, dell'originalità della sua produzione. Seguendo l'evoluzione della proposta artistica di Renato Zero, dalla sua formazione fino alle pubblicazioni più recenti, avvalendosi anche della testimonianza di alcuni collaboratori, il libro mette in luce le modalità, i meccanismi scenici e drammaturgici grazie ai quali la sua musica diventa a tutti gli effetti teatro. Il volume si pone come obiettivo di individuare e valorizzare, in ciascuna delle fasi dello sviluppo dell'opera dell'architetto brasiliano, le realizzazioni di particolare rilevanza, tali da consentire un'adeguata discussione dei grandi temi intorno a cui essa ruota. Se alcuni temi sono circoscritti a periodi piuttosto limitati, altri tuttavia ne percorrono l'intero sviluppo come un filo rosso che si dipana da ormai mezzo secolo. Questi temi, nella loro persistenza e nelle loro variazioni, costituiscono l'ossatura del libro. Lisbon: Joseph Antonio da Sylva Impressor da Academia Real 1730. The first history of Brazil First edition "much sought after by Brazilians" Borba de Moraes. Sebastiao da Rocha Pitta 1660-1738 was himself Brazilian having been born in Bahia. This is an attractive copy of this rare and important work in a carefully restored contemporary binding. The last copy to appear at auction was in 1985. "Though scornfully dismissed by Robert Southey as being 'a meagre and inaccurate work which has been accounted valuable merely because there is no other' the Historia does not deserve such censure. For all its Gongoric turgidity it contains some valuable and authentic information being on some points more fair-minded and accurate than Southey's better written but more prejudiced work" Boxer p. 160. Thomas Lindley writing in his Narrative of a Voyage to Brazil 1805 is less dismissive and certainly more specific in his criticisms describing Pitta as "an intelligent and well-informed Brazilian" who compiled his history "from the chronicles of the Jesuits and other authorities and some valuable local knowledge of his own. This work is copious in its details of the foundation of Brazil as a colony its successive governors its churches its monasteries and convents". However Lindley was less enthusiastic about Pitta's coverage of natural history manufacturing and commerce but the Historia is evidently more of an old-style chronicle than a practical up-to-the-minute guidebook. Lindley also remarks that the Portuguese government "publicly prohibited its being read under the severest penalties and it is now only met with carefully secluded in the cabinets of the curious". Quarto 295 x 197 mm pp. xxvi ii blank 716. Title printed in red and black woodcut headpieces; bound with the half-title and the integral blank before the main body of the text which are frequently lacking. Contemporary sprinkled sheep new dark red morocco label compartments gilt with scrolled foliate corner-pieces floral lozenge central tools edges sprinkled red and blue. Binding a little rubbed and worn in some places some stripping from the front cover. Judicious restoration to spine ends and joints expert repair to head of front board occasional professional paper repairs to margins. È la storia di una voce straordinaria, di un tormentato rapporto con l'industria discografica, euforica per l'enorme successo di canzoni come "Un'estate al mare", diffidente nei confronti della voglia di Giuni di sperimentare strade nuove e di praticare, con dieci anni di anticipo, quella "musica di confine" che più tardi avrebbe conquistato il mondo. È la storia di un'artista orgogliosa del proprio valore ma aperta alle influenze e alla collaborazione dei compagni di strada, primo fra tutti Franco Battiato, che da vero amico le rimase accanto anche nei momenti più difficili. È infine la storia di un'anima inquieta, di un itinerario spirituale che l'avrebbe condotta alla mistica del Monte Carmelo e poi proporre al grande pubblico la musica sacra di tutte le religioni del mondo.

Queste pagine abbandonano il taglio prospettico usuale - il cantautore più influente dell'ultimo mezzo secolo -, e scelgono un terreno di ricerca assai originale e nuovo: in un itinerario avvincente, esse esplorano gli echi e i rimandi, davvero inaspettati, di matrice classica nel corpus letterario di Bob Dylan, evidenziando la straordinaria densità poetica dell'artista americano. Ecco che, accanto al ruolo più aulico e tradizionale degli scrittori, ritorna la sensibilità remota dei bardi e degli aedi, dei trovatori e dei minstrels, i cantori itineranti perennemente per strada col loro mestiere esigente e i loro versi che si depositano nel cuore degli uomini.
