Very Good. xi 7 46 pp. Head- tailpieces. 8vo: A - D8. 8" x 5-1/4" <br/><br/>The Merchant Maiden Hospital was founded in 1695 for the education of daughters of decayed merchant burgesses of Edinburgh. The chief contributor was Mary Erskine after whom one of Edinburgh's schools is now named. She purchased the original house and garden-grounds near Bristo Park. The school later moved to a building situated beside the Meadows which was begun in1816. It is of Grecian character and accommodated about 80 girls between the ages of seven and seventeen. The building included sleeping accommodation three school-rooms a meeting room a kitchen washing house laundry and a chapel. The highest floor consisted of a series of rooms extending the whole length of the building used for drying clothes during the winter months. Mary Erskine later went on to found the Trades' Maiden Hospital in Edinburgh. This copy bound with other material on Maiden Hospital see TavBooks ID #39863. I have been assured by Mr. Sanderson that vouchers for these two bills are now on Mr. Howe's desk and as soon as they are signed by him will be forwarded to the Warm Springs Foundation. Washington: NASA 1969. 16mm. Film Reel. Very Good. Film reel containing 14 1/2 minute promotional film about the upcoming Apollo 11 Flight which would attempt to put Americans on the Moon. Still in original canister and strapped mailing container. Photocopied "Sound-on-Film" script for the film laid in 13p. plus title-leaf; stapled in upper left corner. While we guarantee it to be playable we haven't attempted to view this film other than to unspool the first bit and look at the first few frames. Appears to be 16mm. Identified on script as Aeronautics and Space Report Program #54 June 1969. According to the script the three astronauts are shown in training and each speaks about the upcoming mission as does Dr. Wernher von Braun. According to the script animation was used for portions of the film landing techniques etc. OCLC lists this promotional film but appears to provide no information as to where it is held. <br/><br/> NASA unknown books

The larger map in the center highlights the Old Northwest Territory within the context of the surrounding states. Pictorial icons and labels offer a peek into important historical events in the area and data such as battles fought and population statistics. At the top of the page a series of explanatory maps delineate how the US came into possession of the Northwest Territory most notably showing Indian dispossession. An inset on the left side of the page explains Thomas Jefferson's conception for the subdivision of this new territory into states. Some of the more interesting ideas he had for states include "Polypotania" and "Cherronesus." Finally a series of maps at the bottom of the page show how each state came to be.
