Marelibri and Umberto Eco

The Marelibri Award given to Umberto Eco during the 30th anniversary of the ESOPO

Marelibri.com, one of the most important European websites for antique books, has decided to award the title of Honorary Bookseller 2008 to Umberto Eco, passionate bibliophile and creator of Giambattista Bodoni, the antiquarian bookseller of The Mysterious Flame of Queen Loana published by Harcourt, 2005.

We created this award to honor those persons who through their passion, culture and knowledge of the world of books have become our ideal booksellers.

The Award ceremony was held Saturday March 8th at the Hotel de la Ville, via Hoepli 6, Milan, Italy, at 11 am.

The award, a precious book, has been presented by Sergio Malavasi, president of Marelibri.com.
