‎Diane Arbus: An Aperture Monograph‎

‎NY: Aperture 1973. Book. Very Good. Trade Paperback. An oversize trade paperback with stiff cardstock covers a bit larger than standard magazine size. The peculiar subjects and almost bizarre use of simple unblemished technique distinguish these revelatory photos. In decent shape no creasing spine unbent a trifle worn at cover edges but lightly so. We feel that books offered for internet sale should be described thoroughly and accurately. Books listed by Brass Dolphin are so described and graded using the strict traditional standards. For this reason we have virtually zero returns. Aperture Paperback‎

‎Diane Arbus: Family Albums‎

‎Catalogo realizzato in occasione della mostra tenutasi presso la Grey Art Gallery, New York 13 gennaio - 27 marzo 2004. Introduzione di Anthony W. Lee and John Pultz. Testi di John Pultz e Antony W. Lee. 42 fotografie a piena pagina in bianco e nero f.t. + numerose piccole fotografie da rullino in bianco e nero f.t. . 8vo (cm 28 x 23,5). pp. 62 + tavole. . Ottimo (Fine). . Prima edizione (First Edition). . This book is based on a study of unknown contact sheets from several of Arbus's portrait sessions, including more than three hundred photographs she took of a New York family one weekend in 1969. Anthony W. Lee and John Pultz engage with Arbus's claim that she was developing a "family album", and they present other images Arbus shot for Esquire magazine (including "pictures of the families of Rocky Nelson, Jayne Mansfield, and Ogden Reid) and discuss her interest in photographic groupings of both traditional and alternative families.

‎ARBUS, Diane (New York 1923 - Greenwich Village 1971)‎

‎Untitled‎

4to (cm 36,5x29). pp. 112. . Ottimo (Fine). . Prima edizione inglese (First English Edition). . "Untitled is the third volume of Diane Arbu's work and the only one devoted exclusively to a single project. The photographs were taken at residences for mentally retarded between 1969 and 1971, in the last years of Arbus's life. Although she considered doing a book on the subject, the vast majority of these pictures have remained unpublished until now". Beginning in 1969 and continuing through the last two years of her life, Diane Arbus traveled regularly by bus to New Jersey to photograph people at residences for the developmentally and intellectually disabled. Her first destination, the coeducational Woodbridge State School, was just across the Hudson from her Manhattan apartment. Quite soon, though, she determined that an all-female institution in Vineland, in the southern part of the state, provided richer opportunities. Arbus exposed roughly 1,900 frames of film in these institutions; she committed suicide in July 1971 without having fully edited or titled the pictures. It fell to her older daughter, Doon, to decide what constituted the series, relying (but perhaps not exclusively) on images Arbus chose to print.

‎Revelations : Diane Arbus‎

‎, Jonathan Cape, 2003, Hardcover with dusjacket Illustrated. 320 x 250 mm. 352 pages. ISBN 9780224071833.‎

‎A comprehensive monograph, with 200 full-page duotone of Dianne Arbus photographs. To ensure the ongoing availability of Diane Arbus Revelations, Aperture is proud to release this vitally important volume on the fiftieth anniversary of the posthumous 1972 Arbus retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art and the simultaneous publication of Diane Arbus: An Aperture Monograph. Revelations explores the origins, scope, and aspirations of Arbus's wholly original voice. Arbus's frank treatment of her subjects and her faith in the intrinsic power of the medium have produced a body of work that is often shocking in its purity, in its steadfast celebration of things as they are. Presenting many of her lesser-known or previously unpublished photographs in the context of the iconic images reveals a subtle yet persistent view of the world. The book reproduces two hundred full-page duotones of Diane Arbus photographs spanning her entire career. It also includes a new contribution by Sarah Meister, executive director of Aperture, alongside essays by Sandra S. Phillips, senior curator of photography, emeritus, at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and a discussion of Arbus's printing techniques by Neil Selkirk, the only person authorized to print her photographs since her death. An extensive chronology by Elisabeth Sussman, guest curator of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art show, and Doon Arbus, the artist's eldest daughter, is illustrated by more than three hundred additional images and composed primarily of excerpts from the artist's letters, notebooks, and other writings, amounting to a kind of autobiography. An afterword by Doon Arbus precedes biographical entries on the photographer's friends and colleagues, compiled by Jeff L. Rosenheim, curator in charge of the Department of Photographs at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. ‎ARBUS- Bosworth, Patricia‎

‎Diane Arbus. Una biografia‎

‎Testo di Patricia Bosworth. Traduzione di Maria Pace Ottieri. Alcune fotografie in bianco e nero . 8vo (cm 24,5x17). pp. 390. . Molto buono (Very Good). . Prima edizione italiana (First Italian Edition). .

‎Pleasure Island‎

‎Fotografie in bianco e nero di Federico Arcangeli. Testo in italiano e inglese di Aldo Bonomi. In collaborazione con Urbanautica Istitute . 8vo (cm 24x18). pp. n.n.. Firma autografa dell'Autore (Signed by the Author). Nuovo (New). . Prima edizione (First Edition). .
