This comprehensive retrospective of Belins work also includes all her other suites her questioning of corporeality in her explicit studies of bodybuilders; the series of Moroccan brides which broach complex issues of identity and representation; and her investigations of hybrid entities, such as transsexuals, Michael Jackson look-alikes and the mannequins in shop windows. brossura Un microcosmo, un piccolo pianeta che galleggia nel limbo dell'incertezza della pandemia. Il titolo, Il paese sospeso: nel titolo la perfetta definizione di ciò che è accaduto dal febbraio 2020 in avanti a tanti piccoli (e grandi) centri in tutta Italia e che i fotografi Cele Bellardone e Dino Boffa hanno saputo cogliere nella loro dolente realtà quotidiana. Ancora una volta gli autori si sono immersi, come già accaduto in passato, nell'essenza dell'amata provincia, dove il passo del tempo, la luce e gli sguardi hanno una speciale definizione che sarebbe difficile spiegare, ma che il bianco/nero delle immagini ci racconta in modo così immediato che tutto, all'improvviso, ci sembra elementare. Le strade deserte, i visi dietro le finestre, le stalle, la nebbia, le tradizioni come talismano contro la sventura, i bambini spaesati in parchi gioco vuoti, gli uffici, i Carabinieri, il prevosto... Intorno, la campagna, il volo degli uccelli nelle giornate senza fine. Un vero e proprio reportage, un'opera unica, introdotta dalle parole del maestro Berengo Gardin: "...storia della memoria".

ill. Un libro anomalo, un esperimento unico e affascinante: due fotografi impegnati a ritrarre un altro fotografo che sta realizzando un libro. Se già questo spunto può sembrare motivo d'interesse, l'aggiunta del nome del protagonista impone ulteriore attenzione: Gianni Berengo Gardin, uno dei celebrati maestri della fotografia mondiale.
