Corners bumped with small nicks small chips to ends of spine. Else cover clean and bright. Endpapers clean bookplate “Westbury” to front. Minor glue repairs to inner hinges. Some minor darkening/foxing to rear of endpaper/halftitle page. Authors pencilled dedication to top of title page “Grant from our Dear Friend The Author June ‘99.” Later pencil note to title page “the reproductions of A.H.’s own drawings “woodcuts” are the best . and make the book valued for that specially - A.H. was of opinion that the artist who did these things for most of his works was unsurpassable in this style - the artist died sometime before A.H.” One or two other small neat notes pencilled to margins.
