Il volume si sofferma su alcuni aspetti della figura e della cultura di Boccaccio: la sua vicenda biografica, il milieu religioso angioino e fiorentino, la produzione letteraria, con particolare attenzione al Decameron. L’analisi privilegia diversi motivi e tematiche utili all’esplorazione del mondo boccacciano: la povertà, che mostra una consapevole adesione a un ideale umanistico e segna momenti e traversie della vita del letterato; la satira antifratesca, il riuso della letteratura religiosa nel Decameron; la geografia del capolavoro, con l’analisi di luoghi e spazi in grado di orientarne l’esegesi. Chiudono il volume tre letture di novelle scelte tra la Quarta e la Quinta giornata che mettono in luce la maestria di Boccaccio nel combinare e reinterpretare i materiali delle diverse tradizioni. Il s'agit d'une histoire amoureuse entre Fleury et Blanchefleur, amour impossible entre un chrétien et une païenne. La première édition de cette traduction fut publiée en 1542 puis en 1555. Vélin moderne, mouillure angulaire ancienne sur les 120 premiers feuillets et mouillure ancienne sur les 50 derniers feuillets. Peu commun.

The imprint is false printed in Paris. Giovanni Boccaccio In French Jean Bocace was an Italian author poet and correspondent of Petrarch. Boccaccio wrote a number of notable works including the Decameron and On Famous Women. As a poet who wrote in the Italian vernacular Boccaccio is particularly noted for his realistic dialogue which differed from his contemporaries. In paper-covered boards. Spines have a few very minor scuffs covers and page edges very lightly foxed front end paper of volume 1 has small rust spots where a paper clip had been affixed to the two laid in items and where the staples in the news letter contacted endpaper no marks or writing.
