Title and decorations stamped in gilt on the spine with raise bands. The book is in good minus overall antiquarian condition. Scuffs scratches and rubbing to the boards leather corners and spine. The gilt embellishment on the spine is clear and well preserved. The boards are cracked at the hinges exposing the webbing underneath. Previous owner's Christmas gift inscription in ink on the front leaf. Closed tears to the last page of text leaf and endpaper with a large piece of the leaf missing. Light foxing to the preliminary pages. The binding is cracked at pages 33 and 577 with additional leaves standing proud. The textblock is gently toned and largely clean and bright.
