Volume I is published by William Veazie and dated 1860 otherwise the set is consistent. These books are clean tight relatively square with very good corners and unmarked. They have some minor damp stain externally and fainter internally but their exposure to moisture causes them to bow in places. They have short splits at the edge of the spine. They have blue & red marbled end papers and 447 468 466 472 bright clear pages with marbled edges in a three quarter binding with tan leather on the spines and corners. The boards are covered in red & blue marbled paper. The spines have five raised band with gilt decorated panels and gilt titles in red & black boxes which have minor chipping.
