Philip the Good, duke of Burgundy from 1419 to 1467, distinguished himself as a patron of illuminated histories and historical romances, and as host of the most lavish entertainment of the middle ages. The Banquet of the Pheasant was a response to the Fall of Constantinople, and it was staged to enlist support for the coming crusade. Two splendid tributes to heroic crusaders from the duke's family tree, commissioned in the 1450s, provide an opportunity to bring these elements of his reputation - bibliophile and would-be crusader--under the same lens. Our perception of the Charlemagne Chronicle in Brussels (BR, MS 9066-68) and the Jerusalem Chronicle in Vienna (ONB, Cod. 2533) is enhanced when we consider other examples of "crusade literature" and remember the perennial goal of recovering Jerusalem. This study of the visual and literary projects that supported Philip's efforts to launch a crusade, long after the days of the "classic" crusades, sets these manuscripts in the context of his court's interest in history writing and updated historical romances, and against the background of the French crusading tradition and the Burgundian incarnation that succeeded it. Le livre n?est qu?en partie fidele au modele de pontifical etabli par Guillaume Durand. Outre un calendrier et des feuillets de comput, il contient aussi plusieurs textes additionnels, expressement ajoutes par Pierre de la Jugie, et accompagne d?une iconographie qui leur est propre. L?etude des textes, du calendrier au pontifical, et de l?iconographie choisie pour les illustrer, permet de mettre en valeur la forte implication du commanditaire dans la mise en place de ce livre. Les peintures qui ornent ces pages sont l??uvre de quatre artistes qui, en depit de leurs formations differentes (Catalogne, Sud de la France, Italie) ont collabore et se sont mutuellement influences. Le recensement des productions de chacun des enlumineurs permet de mettre en valeur l?existence de reseaux d?echanges entre les artistes et les commanditaires ecclesiastiques appartenant a un meme clan de prelats limousins.

The bibliography covers the processing techniques used in stabilisation and disinfection, including a broad range of stabilisation methods from the traditional - anaerobic digestion - to aerobic lime stabilisation and composting. Das in zahlreichen Auflagen (zuletzt 1910) wiederabgedruckte Werk gilt als eines der grundlegenden Werke, in denen die Bedeutungsunterschiede der deutschen Synonyma in ausführlicher Weise dargestellt werden. - Eberhard studierte 1756-59 in Halle Theologie und wurde Hofmeister in Halberstadt im Hause des späteren Staatsminsters von der Horst, dem er 1763 nach Berlin folgte, wo er u.a. an den Abendunterhaltungen Moses Mendelssohns und Friedrich Nicolais teilnahm. 1778 folgte er einem Ruf als Prof. der Philosophie nach Halle. In seinen Abhandlungen verband Eberhard die Leibniz-Wolffsche Philosophie mit Motiven der englischen Aufklärungsphilosophie; er polemisierte gegen Kant (vgl.
