In-8° (cm. 24x16,8), pp. 26 con 4 FOTO in bianco e nero applicate nel testo su pagine bianche al verso (Palazzo Poldi Pezzoli ove ha sede la Galleria, e tre foto di sale interne con dipinti e arredi. Capilettera grandi in rosso, finalino. Elegante e sobria brossura editoriale. Distinta e pregiata veste editoriale, Carta di pregio filigranata, nelle sue barbe. In copertina il piccolo tondo marchio della Galleria Pesaro con un albero e il motto "Durando vinces fiducia fortitudinis". Al verso del piatto posteriore la preziosa LISTA delle Esposizioni e Vendite dal 1909 dall'apertura (aprile 1909) al maggio 1917. La GALLERIA PESARO, fondata nel 1909 come "Casa di Vendita" dal collezionista Lino PESARO, promosse il movimento "Novecento" e il Futurismo. L'attività si concluse tragicamente il 31 dicembre 1937 con la «Mostra dei sette di Brera», a causa del suicidio di Lino Pesaro, di origini ebraiche: erano già cominciate le persecuzioni antisemite che darebbero sfociate l'anno dopo nelle leggi razziste della Stato fascista. Raffaello BERTIERI (Firenze 1875 - Asso 1941), dal 1904 anima del "Risorgimento Grafico", tipografo e inventore di caratteri tipografici di fama mondiale. Censito in 6 biblioteche it.

Interpretò in chiave moderna i valori estetici e artistici dell'antica tradizione rinascimentale italiana. Avvertendo la sudditanza della tipografia italiana dai modelli nordamericani ricalcati su quelli dei nostri maestri del Rinascimento, arrivò a rivalutare Bodoni come raccordo tra quella straordinaria tradizione e il neoclassicismo. In "Come nasce un libro" (1931) Raffaello Bertieri racconta in modo piano, con precisione didattica e dovizia di esempi, tutte le fasi della produzione del libro, dalla composizione dei testi, all'impressione vera e propria e alla legatura, mostrando in dettaglio quanto siano interdipendenti le varie fasi, e quanto l'accuratezza e la precisione siano essenziali alla realizzazione del lavoro. Illustrated with 16 color etchings by Bernard Solomon the translator and etcher. He realized there were remarkable parallels between the Biblical story of Esther and that of Anita Hill Clarence Thomas and the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee. This interpretation unfolds sequentially as each leaf is unrolled from the 33 in. high scroll holder. The body of the scroll holder is one of the original copper plates used for the etchings which is why it is limited to an edition of only 16. The top and bottom of the handcrafted minaret-style case is finely shaped and polished mahogany by Anthony V. Mann. Designed with a hidden crank to rewind the scroll into the case.
