brossura Decifrare il simbolismo della Divina Commedia è da sempre un compito arduo, che schiere di commentatori hanno affrontato nel corso dei secoli. Per il lettore odierno le cose si fanno ancora più difficili: non solo per il linguaggio enigmatico di cui Dante riveste le sue allusioni, le sue profezie e la struttura stessa del poema, ma per la distanza pressoché incolmabile tra la sua visione del mondo e quella attuale. L'uomo cosiddetto moderno vede del mondo solo il significato letterale, misurabile, quantitativo; per lui, tutto è solamente ciò che è, non rimanda a nulla se non a se stesso, al suo esistere qui e ora come entità misurabile, quantificabile, mercificabile o, se proprio vuole attribuirgli un valore intangibile, al massimo lo definisce come "informazione". Per Dante e per tutti coloro che sono legati a una Tradizione autentica, invece, il mondo è una rete, in cui tutto ciò che esiste è legato da corrispondenze invisibili che rispecchiano un ordine infallibile, che si manifesta in cicli temporali, leggi matematiche, gerarchie degli esseri, un ordine di cui un sapere antichissimo ha tramandato i codici, ormai dimenticati, ma forse non del tutto. Guénon ne è uno dei custodi e in questi studi mette la sua conoscenza al servizio del poema di Dante, svelandone le corrispondenze più sottili e nascoste con la Tradizione originale. Sfatando le interpretazioni di autori che hanno creduto di spiegare Dante attraverso la lente deformante della loro epoca, Guénon non restituisce al suo simbolismo tutta la complessità metafisica da cui è sorto.

As one of the most heralded running backs ever to hail from the football-crazy state of Texas Hall enjoyed a great deal of success at Texas A&M before being unceremoniously dropped from the team because of a series of parking tickets that drew as much attention as his exploits on the football field. Kansas City Chiefs president and CEO Carl Peterson had been eyeing the five-foot-eight 187-pound back but wanted to check with Aggies coach R. C. Slocum before picking Hall in the 2000 draft. Slocum assured Peterson that Hall was a great young man who had made a mistake so Hall became a member of the Chiefs. He languished on the sidelines under former head coach Gunther Cunningham appearing in just five games his rookie season. Two volume set is in excellent condition with creaseless covers and spine, appears unread. Binding is solid and square, covers have sharp corners, exterior shows no blemishes, text/interior is clean and free of marking of any kind. Boston:: Bibliophile Society 1905. First Edition thus. Hardcover. Two volumes hardback small quarto about 10 inches 26.5 cm tall in half gilt stamped parchment on paper covered boards. Limited edition one of 447 copies on Italian laid paper 20 other copies were produced as well. Volume I is an unpaginated facsimile manuscript; the second 65 pages of verse with three illustrations by J.A. Williams an engraved frontis portrait and an engraved title and chapter vignettes all in Arts & Crafts / Art Nouveau style. Edges of each volume are untrimmed; most in volume I and some in volume II are unopened at top. Inside a pristine set soundly bound but endpapers just lightly toned at edges by offsetting of the glassine jacket. Bookplate on the front free endpaper that of Lucius Fisher of Chicago in the style of the Society's logo but with a fish motif. The covers are clean and unworn and the parchment bright. The glassine jackets are modestly torn and chipped at top edge. The inner slipcase is rubbed with some loss of surface color but fully intact. The outer slipcase is lightly edgeworn with an intact but toned spine label. This is a magnificently produced fine press set in Arts & Crafts tradition. Bibliophile Society, hardcover
