New York.: Harper & Brothers. 01-06- 1883. Double-page black and white wood-engraving from Harper's Bazar magazine January 6 1883 image 19 1/4 x 13 1/2 inches on sheet size 22 x 16 inches. Overall very good condition with some faint soiling mainly in outer margins light crease across left corner one 1/8 inch hole along centerfold little wear along centrefold in right margin and light abrasion along verso where the binding strip was removed. A particularly charming and scarce image by Thomas Nast of Santa Claus peaking in through a window checking out the lay of the land with two kittens slumbering on a chair.
