Pandora's Box Die Buchse der Pandora Original German program for the 1929 film
Berlin: Film-Kurier 1929. Original program for the legendary 1929 silent film. Replete with beautiful gravure-printed production photographs many unique to this publication. Film-Kurier was the first German film journal published daily beginning in 1919. Film-Kurier's classic era lasted until 1933 when its publisher Alfred Weiner had to flee Germany because of his Jewish origins. The issues from this era remain striking to this day because they were printed using a gravure reproduction process. Each day's issue would focus on a single film. 8 pages saddle stitched with a touch of wear at one corner. Near Fine. Criterion Collection 358. Film-Kurier unknown

Atlanta: Turner Home Video 1990. Final Draft script for the 1991 television film. Here under the working title "The Final Warning." Copy belonging to crew member Robert Easton with his name on the front wrapper in holograph ink. Based on the 1988 book "Final Warning: The Legacy of Chernobyl" by Robert Peter Gale and Thomas Hauser. The first half of the film sticks mostly to the facts surrounding the fire and subsequent meltdown at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in Ukrainian SSR in 1986 while the second half is more a self-congratulatory celebration of American philanthropy in the wake of the disaster. Set in Soviet Union shot on location in the Soviet Union. Gray untitled wrappers. I Never Promised You a Rose Garden Original screenplay for the 1977 film 1975 draft
Los Angeles: New World Pictures 1975. Early Draft script for the 1977 film issued roughly two years before the film's release. Accompanied by a typed letter signed from a woman at the Paul Kohner agency to actress Maria Schneider. Based on the 1964 novel by Joanne Greenberg written under the pseudonym Hannah Green. One of the great unsung literary adaptations of the 1970s taking a terrifically complex novel about a young woman who has completely retreated into fantasy following the death of her sister. A film that suffered inevitable comparisons to "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" but actually far more internal and horrific an actor's film brought to life by Bibi Andersson and a young Kathleen Quinlan. Nominated for an Academy Award for Best Screenplay. Tan titled wrappers with a die-cut title window. Title page present with credits for novelist Green and screenwriter Mann. 102 leaves mechanical duplication. Pages Near Fine wrapper Near Fine bound internally with three gold brads. Pal Fejos director; Ilona Fulop screenwriter; Steven Geray Annabella starring
Spring Shower Original screenplay for the 1932 film
Budapest: Hunnia Filmstudio 1929. Presentation copy of an Early Draft script for the Hungarian film released in Hungry in 1932 as "Tavaszi zapor" in Frace in 1933 as "Marie Legende Hongroise" and in the United States in 1935 as "Spring Shower." Housed in a likely hand-sewn floral cloth-covered portfolio the script is INSCRIBED by the Hungarian-American feminist and radical socialist screenwriter Ilona Fulop on the title page: "To Mac: / Because You still trust me! / Ilona / Christmas 1929 / Hollywood Cal." A unique and attractive item and probably the only surviving copy of the script. <br/><br/>The story of a poor girl driven out of her village when she becomes pregnant by her employer's wealthy fiance finding refuge working as a maid in a brothel. After her daughter is taken from her however she falls into alcoholism and dies. A maid in Heaven as she was on earth she saves her daughter from befalling a similar fate by "emptying her mop bucket" on her daughter's head via a rain shower at a pivotal moment. <br/><br/>A multinational production in which a Hungarian screenwriter and Hungarian director both with experience in Hollywood shot a film starring a French actress using frozen assets from a French producer that had been mandated for exclusively Hungarian use. Though not a box office success at the time it is now regarded as one of the all-time great films originating from the country. In a 1919 article entitled "What is 'Revolution' Doing to Love" screenwriter Fulop describes herself as a socialist radical as opposed to a revolutionary or a Bolshevik and her desire to further equal rights for women strongly defines her as a modern-day feminist as well. "Spring Showers" with its women- and proletarian-friendly plot thus comes as little surprise. <br/><br/>Housed in floral cloth-covered portfolio titled wrappers. Title page present with credits for screenwriter Fulop. 78 leaves with last page of text numbered 77. Carbon typescript. Falling Upward Original poster from the 2001 Falcon Theatre production
Burbank CA: Pandemonium Theatre Company 2001. Original poster for the 2001 Falcon Theatre production of the Ray Bradbury play "Falling Upward!" The production ran from November 27 2001 to December 30 2001. "Falling Upward!" was known to be one of Bradbury's favorite plays and he often encouraged its production especially as he advanced in age simply for the joy of being able to see it again. Set entirely in an Irish bar with an entirely male cast he had in previous incantations considered the addition of a lone female cast member before deciding that was historically inaccurate. The play coalesced out of his experiences in Ireland which he first wrote into a short story entitled "The Anthem Sprinters" and which then were later incorporated into "Falling Upward!" Bradbury was an avid playwright and a familiar and enthusiastic presence in the Southern Californian theater circuit near his home. In 1963 he and director Charles Rome Smith founded Pandemonium Theatre Company. The two friends would go on to work with the company together for the next four decades until Rome's death in 2004. 11 x 17 inches. Fine condition. Pandemonium Theatre Company unknown
