The map case is chipped and split but the large folding maps with original printed color are near fine and include 9 sheets of the Mackenzie Yukon Basins and 3 sheets of the superficial geology of southern New Brunswick. Everal added maps in the large 2.5 inch thick main volume including Dawson's reports and the large folding index map of the Yukon expedition. It is hard to image the full set of maps could be had in much better condition. One or two of the maps have a loer marginal owners stamp. . Paper. Very Good. 4to - over 9�" - 12" tall. Revision pages for two episodes of "The Fugitive": "An Apple a Day" season 3 episode 8 68th episode of 120 and "Wife Killer" seen here under its working title "A Quiet Weekend in the Country" season 3 episode 17 77th episode of 120. "The Fugitive" 1963-1967 was an American crime-drama series created by Roy Huggins distributed by ABC and produced by Quinn Martin Productions starring David Janssen as Richard Kimble a physician falsely accused of his wife's murder. En route to death row Kimble manages to escape and begins a cross-country manhunt for the true killer a one-armed man played by Bill Raisch who actually had only one arm. The first three seasons were filmed in black-and-white and the final season in color. From 1963 to 1967 "The Fugitive" ran for a total of 120 episodes. Remade as a television series in 2000 and basis for the 1993 Andrew Davis film starring Harrison Ford as Kimble and Tommy Lee Jones. In "An Apple a Day" Kimble injures himself and ends up in the care of a natural medicine practitioner wondering how he can help save another patient who is seriously ill. Pinup model and sometimes-Burlesque dancer Sheree North costars as well as Kim Darby. In "Wife Killer" "A Quiet Weekend in the Country" Kimble and a female reporter capture the One-Armed Man and attempt to get him to confess to the murder of Kimble's wife. Janice Rule and Kevin McCarthy costar as well as Raisch as the One-Armed Man. Paris: Self-published 1962. Original French toy and home goods sales catalogue and supplements for the "Comptoir general de la bimbeloterie" company in Paris 1961-1962. Illustrated with black-and-white vignette photographs of items for sale each represented with a serial number accompanied by a corresponding descriptive price catalogue. Thousands of toys puzzles board games sports equipment and miniatures are featured including Pierres Magiques miniatures foosball sewing kits toy guns figurines musical instruments watches and jewelry dolls holiday decorations rocking horses and tricycles. Also included are two descriptive price supplements for sales catalogues from early 1961 January and May each with laid-in leaves of similar photographic vignettes. The monthly catalogues are presumably what the company issued on a regular basis and the deluxe 1961-1962 catalogue acted as a yearbook issued only periodically during high-demand seasons. The Comptoir general de la bimbeloterie "supplier of trinkets" managed by the mysterious J. du Serre sold toys and goods since the early 1900s and would continue until around 1975. Various catalogues featured color illustrations and included prices and descriptions directly on the page as seen in examples from the 1940s and 1950s or highlight certain items on price sheets bound-in as seen in this example. This catalogue represents the company at what was a considerably successful point judging by the lush color photographs on the wrapper showcasing their sales floors and massive inventory. The supplemental catalogues are simple pulpy black-and-white text only with a map of the neighborhood surrounding the "C.G.B." on the rear wrapper. In light of recent toy distributors closing many locations this catalogue breathes nostalgia and familiarity from a period of France's new establishment after WWII. The only institutional holdings 2 are at France's Bibliotheque Nationale and an exhibition catalogue from the "Exposition franco-britannique de Londres 1908. Classe 100 bimbeloterie" crediting du Serre is held at the Bibliotheque and at California State University Fresno. Sales catalogue 8.75 x 11.75 inches in color wrapper 52 pages supplemental price catalogue slightly smaller 78 pages and additional catalogues 10 pages January and 31 pages May all saddle-stitched. Rome Italy October 17th 1949. 1949. Good. - Over 340 words typed on his personal 1-3/8 inch high by 8-7/8 inch wide onion skin stationery. One can assume that Emilio Servadio and John Hyde Preston knew each other for when addressing the author of "Mad Anthony Wayne" and "Revolution 1776" among other books Emilio Servadio writes that "I was glad to hear your voice on the phone." John Hyde Preston had apparently left behind some possessions when he'd last stayed in Rome as Dr. Servadio mentions that he has phoned the Inghilterra hotel on Preston's behalf and was told that "everything has been taken away long ago by a friend of yours named 'Marcello". Was he not the photographer you told me about - a sort of young 'protege' of your wife" As Preston will be returning to Rome Dr. Servadio has been looking into the possibilities of putting him up with a family. He goes on to say that "Regarding the analysis I must let you know that I could not take you immediately because I am terribly overworked and I have refused not less that sic five new cases in the last two weeks. First of all you should try to settle down agreeably in Rome . In the meantime it is to be hoped that I will have some 'hole' in my time-table and be able to take you for three hours a week as planned." Signed "E. Servadio". Folded for mailing with short tears to the edges of the horizontal fold. There are creases to the edges and corners and another short tear to the left edge of the page. <p>The Italian physician and Freudian psychoanalist Emilio Servadio studied music before moving on to the study of law and eventually psychology. A lover of literature Servadio was drawn to the French avant-garde & symbolist poets. Psychology particularly the academic psychology of the period held little interest for him until Freud's "Introduction to Psychoanalysis" stirred deeper feelings. He met and learned from Edoardo Weiss and later collaborated with Weiss to found the Italian Psychoanalytical Society. At the Lucerne Congress in 1934 he presented his paper on "Psychoanalysis and Telepathy" and in 1937 co- founded the "Societa di Metapsichica" which became the "Societa Italiana di Parasicologia" after the war. Fascinated by metaphysical subjects Servadio made use of investigative methods to study paranormal phenomena. Servadio was Jewish and he and several colleagues were forced to flee when the Fascist regime enacted racial laws in 1938. Having already been following Indian spiritual practices and possessing a diploma from an Indian University Servadio moved to India where he came into contact with the religion symbols and cultures of the people and could further his interest in Yoga and investigate its parallels with psychoanalysis. After his return to Italy in 1946 he together with Nicola Perrotti and Cesare Musatti was responsible for the rebirth of Italian psychoanalysis. To understand psychotic states he experimented with hallucinogens and studied the effects of LSD. "I passed hours in a memorable psychological state of chaos" he wrote "Today when a patient talks about depersonalization neurosis of abandon or persecution fantasies I know what it means." Servadio co-authored with Roberto Cavanna "ESP Experiments with LSD 25 and Psilocylbin: A Methodological Approach" published by the Parapsychology Foundation in 1964. Back in 1952 the renowned Italian film director Federico Fellini experienced the first signs of clinical depression while filming "La Strada" and sought out Emilio Servadio for therapy. Fellini was later attracted to parapsychology and the Turin magician Gustavo Rol introduced him to spiritism and seances. Soon after Fellini took LSD under Servadio's supervision. His hallucinatory insights and visions subsequently inspired his 1965 film "Juliet of the Spirits". Servadio was a man of many interests and his quest for knowledge led him to join the Freemasons. As a member of the "Monte Sion Har Tzion" lodge he pursued studies on the Jewish-cabalistic tradition. His interest in sexology led to the publication of his "Sex Education" book in 1970 "Psyche and Sexuality" in 1972 and "Sex and Psyche" in 1979. John Hyde Preston the author of "Mad Anthony Wayne" and "Revolution 1776" among other books had sought treatment from Dr. Servadio back in 1948 and the two obviously stayed in touch. In his letter Emilio Servadio writes that "I was particularly pleased to learn that you are in good health and that you have been working constructively and successfully. I have no doubt that this has been partly due to some good work that we did together; but the presence and assistance of such a splendid feminine figure as you describe it has certainly been of paramount importance for your well being." It appears that John Hyde Preston was at work on another novel and Servadio is offering suggestions as to who could assist with the Italian translation: "I have had a talk with a good friend of mine Prof. Giuseppe D'Agnano . about the Italian translation of 'The Stations of Power'. He has already done some good translation work from English into Italian and I think he might be the right person for you." Servadio further offers to help advertise the novel as soon as it "is announced in the American Press". We've been unable to find evidence of any book of that title nor any book which Preston published within a year of that day. It is possible that the novel which Servadio mentions was never published or that Preston released it under another title several years later. Dr. Servadio is happy to report that his health is "quite good" and is proud of having recently successfully treated another American patient. Signed in green ink "E. Servadio".
