Wheaton's illustrations are quite delightful: Several of them show frogs in kilts or playing the bagpipes a tortoise in a tam-o'-shanter &c; another incorporates the aurora borealis. The poet Robert Strachan Stephen b. 1949 afterwards published By the shores o' Galilee: Stories from the Gospels in Scots verse 1989; In the beginning: Stories from the Old Testament in Scots verse 1991 and Troll tales 1999. The Aulton Press is apparently his private imprint; and this is its first book. Out of print and already quite SCARCE.
