New York: Youth International Party 1968. Unbound. Near Fine. Two photo-mechanically reproduced flyers measuring 8" x 11" stapled. Printed on three sides. Creasing from mailing else near fine. A two page announcement sent out by the Youth International Party Yippie discussing their plans for a "festival of life" in Chicago in August of 1968. It reads in part "YIP is planning a "festival of life" an "international youth festival from Sunday August 25 to Friday August 30 in Chicago Illinois. This youth festival will take place at the same time as the National Death Democratic Convention in Chicago. It will be a contrast in life styles. Ours will be an affirmation of life; theirs is d-e-a-t-h." The flyer then lists events music acts and how to obtain additional information surrounding the festival. The festival of life did not work out as planned and ended with the police attacking protesters outside the Hilton hotel. This later resulted in eight of the protesters known as the Chicago eight being tried for conspiracy. Youth International Party unknown

This particular version is associated with Youth Liberation of Ann Arbor a group active from 1970 to 1979 and now seen as a precursor to a number of Youth Rights organizations in the following years.
